jonathan i think we have vastly different outlooks on the world. and to be honest i cant be bothered arguing about it. your opinion will not change, and neither will mine. well obviously they might at some time in the future, but not as a result of this debate, i'm sure.

WHAT

Only the most extreme elements of Israeli society want to say expel the Arabs from the west bank, gaza and israel proper, they would never dream of the extermination or complete subordination of all the muslims in the middle east. Most Israeli's in general just want some peace and quiet and the terrorism to stop.

So, is the UN going to set up some continent for the Native Americans who were exterminated by the US government?

If Israel was created to offest the Holocaust, shouldn't it be placed in Germany, or at least in Europe?

I believe that Israel has a right to exist, like every other nation. However, Israel's right to existance has nothing to do with the Holocaust. If you make that claim, then you have to start setting up new countries all over the world for every race and ethnicity who has ever survived a genocide attempt. Either that or be a hypocrite.

Europe had economic motivations in creating Israel. Namely, in that they were rebuilding from a very destructive war. Also, the Jews displaced by the war had no money and no property. In many cases the Nazis had taken it from them on invading, and there was no way to sort out who owned what even if it hadn't been destroyed. Mainly, these people would have been homeless and destitute without the creation of Israel, and for these nations, creating another country within theirs just wasn't an option.

Britain did own the area called Israel today - back then it was the British Mandate of Palestine. They came to control it after WWI when it was seized from the Ottoman Empire. So if you consider that they should be allowed to give away land they won through conquest, then it was theirs to give to the Jews... if you don't, well that's really more of a moral issue than a fact based one and I won't get into that.

911 was never a conspiracy for it truly did happen for why would the U.S. conspire with the Arabs or even blame them.

Israel is recognised by the U.N. as a legitimate State and is apart of the U.N. too. Hezbellah is not it a legitimate State just a political and para-military organization even a terrorist organization at best.
