It is really pathetic that we try to find amoral substitutes when what is already in place works. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. People who say otherwise are cowards.

Actually, what you've just repeated about condoms is nothing more than baseless propaganda by people who are afraid that the use of prophylactics will only encourage promiscuity, or even equate the use of as abortion.
Couples who make use of condoms would be pregnant a hundred times over, or would be passing diseases back and forth, and that just isn't happening.

If the concept wasn't fundamentally broken in the first place then this thread wouldn't exist.

For you and me it works somehow we can be celibate outside of marriage and faithful inside it.
<I mostly used my personality for birth control.>
But I can do a lot of things other people can't.
I think abstinence plus programs are peachy keen.
i.e. keep it in your pants don't sleep around but if you do use a condom.
compromise reached.

LOLWUT.

You truly are a sick, horrible person if you think it is worth the risk. I am not denying the fact that it works, just that it doesn't work as well. You would rather let people get sick or get pregnant by complete surprise than tell them the truth and tell them abstinence is the only 100% way to prevent such tragedies?

This is just another example of passion over reason. You want sex so bad that you are going to try to get away without the consequences.

Condoms do in fact prevent STD infections, and pregnancies - 100%. The only time that's compromised is if the condom breaks, and that's very, very rare. I would credit breaking more to the shoddy make of cheaper products than to the fire power of any man, no matter what he wants to believe about himself.
By the way, calling me a sick, horrible person made me laugh - hardly the desired effect I think you were intending.

and here we have the sole reason i have a problem with abstinence, idocy run rampant.

now i have no problem with you being abstinent, i have no problem with it being offered as a choice to young people,
i do have a problem when they try to lie without any real basis for those lies and still pass it as truth.

i also have a problem with people trying to gain a moral high ground on their own views and values without any regard for others.

In abstinence plus and most if not all sex-ed programs they do talk about not doing it.
I have never heard about anyone hiding the concept of abstinence from anyone.

100%? Have you forgotten that microscopic holes let HIV though with ridiculous ease, with the ease of a ping pong ball through a basket ball hoop?

Very sound advise.
What I find very funny is that the people who promote abstinence while at the same time lie about the safety of condoms also absolutely discourage masturbation. Hell, without self gratification, I would have died a long time ago from pent up frustration, before I met my wife.

That made me laugh. Stupid enough to run the risk with a condom that is probably going to fail.

The reason they discourage masturbation is because abstinence also makes sex a lot more enjoyable when you finally do it. People who practice abstinence tend to enjoy sex more because they don't take it for granted. Doesn't that sound much better?

please provide peer reviewed evidence for that claim or accept that it is nothing but baseless lies and propaganda.

there is a risk, a very well documented one, but it is in no way "most" or "high risk"

why havent i had an STD then?
why havent i become a farther?

before i met my girfriend i always used a condom and i never had any troubles, now i dont need to, we have other contraception that works.

A condom will not probably fail.
Do you know how they test them? They fill them up with water like water like water balloons, till the breaking point. No man is going to excrete that much sperm!

"Probably" - really?
What exactly is the probability of condom failures? What are the mechanisms of any failures?
Have you ever actually checked any of this stuff out for yourself?
