I'm still not insulted. You guys are just not trying hard enough.

Most 53 year olds are very dull, burned out old farts. Tell any of them that they possess the wit and maturity of a 14 year old, and their faces will light up at the recognition (even if false) of having a spark of youthful vigor left in them.

I am of the opinion that censorship should be used only in matters of state security. It isn't the states business to tell me what I can or can't read, see, hear, or say for entertainment or education.

The only possible exception I could see making for that, is banning hate speech in public places (public libraries, sidewalks/streets, etc).

Larry Flynt tends to take a lot of big risks when it comes to Free Speech issues, and has broken a lot of ground for us.

In my 45 years of working I never had to butter up anyone. I got to where I got by being and working in top-form in my trade (software development and applied mathematics). I also avoiding the Peter Principle by refusing to be promoted past my limit of competence.

With the Internet, you can't keep a secret anymore.

And stupid sex censorship is really absurd these days. If you know where to look, you can download almost anything.

It makes me think of a documentary of Afghan TV. A lot of Afghan people have satellite TV, and they also receive a 24/24 porn channel XD. Huge contrast to some huge censorship in local stations. Basically, when you see skin of a woman, its always flooted, except for the head.

Or when they found porn images in the cash of the "One Laptop per Child". XD Keep in mind, that third world countries are generally very conservative.

Unless, you do like north Korea. You can't keep a secret. Look at the wikileeks fiasco.

Certain forms of censorship may aid in the well being of the state (things like military secrets), but I would always strongly oppose any kind of censorship of art.

In my opinion censorship of any kind renders the discussion useless and precludes honest exchange.

If WP practices it I can't imagine it having any value for people in crisis.
