How are we supposed to know what belongs there and what doesn't? Fact is, stuff was selected some of which doesn't even agree with other stuff. There are two different versions of what happened to Judas, for example.

The early church used the standard of what was universally accepted to determine what was canon and what was apochrypha.

Christianity was alive and kicking for about 400 years before what we know as the Bible was even put together. Even after that the Bible only existed as a few hand written copies in monasteries and universities for almost 1500 years.
