Basically his last talking points were 'journalists are enemies of the state' and other rhetoric....so yeah not sure why he should be the most 'acclaimed' leader.
well it is only in the fullness of time that we will see his success.
the "press" in america is, as far as i can see, a sensational free for all.
in australia we have checks and balances on our press, and there is a show called "media watch" which uncovers false stories.
well i i know that life is as exciting as it is in the USA in australia, and there is no worry on anyone's mind about violence.
we don't have guns. we don'y need them.
anyway, as i said before, i will wait and see how the trump saga pans out. i am not an american.
Well regardless of your opinion of the press, the constitution does say we have freedom of the press...declaring people such as journalists who use this freedom to report on the issues should not be declared 'enemies of the state' by the president end of story. And we have programs here to expose fake news and what not...but its not like all the news reporters and journalists are just constantly lying...like not everything the trump crowd disagrees with is fake news.
Also we can already see how the Trump saga is panning out and its not any good. If it was up to Trump he'd have all the red-woods cut down cause 'merica and whatever big gas or coal company wants the area(those are trees some of which are thousands of years old tallest trees in the world apparently very special irreplaceable trees). Hell if it was 100% up to him he'd sell all the national forests, state parks and wildlife reserves to the highest bidder. So screw Trump if nothing else he has shown himself as someone who wants to destroy everything that makes this country beautiful.

i think he will be the most interesting president in history in that he started off with vitriolic disapproval, and may end up the most acclaimed leader your country has ever known.
but i will have to wait and see.
something a lot of people do on here is refuse to change their assertions even in the face of evidence that their assertions are invalid.
even trump changes his mind. not like many people here. they are doggedly lock jawed on their bones of contention with eyes rolled back because they can not suffer the embarrassment of being wrong.
i do not know. we will wait and see.
I have noticed this tendency not only on this site, but in the real world too. People here do seem to be worse though.
These "intellectuals" frequently don't even bother to change their wording, they just repeat the same old lines again and again until people give up on responding.
This they percieve to be their victory.

Basically his last talking points were 'journalists are enemies of the state' and other rhetoric....so yeah not sure why he should be the most 'acclaimed' leader. Promoting the idea that american citizens who just use the right of freedom of the press are 'enemies of the state' that alone is enough to be concerning on its own. Let alone all the other diarrhea of the mouth he spews.
And maybe the democrats were wrong about guns...after some of that last rhetoric I heard from trump, perhaps we may need guns and lots of them to defend ourselves I mean what is next democrats and liberals are 'enemies of the state' which some other right wing speaker aside from trump might suggest 'you should gun them down'. Kind of like after the rhetoric about journalists there was a shooting at a newspaper/news headquarters or whatever.
When the media takes political sides and lies and spreads propaganda they are the enemy of a free state. If they were true media and unbiased and never told lies or propaganda maybe it’d be different. I think the founders would be sick if they saw the current media.
You mean like how democrat politicians call for people to stay out, harass, assault trump supports and tell them you aren’t welcome in the USA. Even to surround their houses with mobs? How about how obama labeled Christian or conservatives as terrorist groups? And the calls to put gun owners in government re-education camps(gee that’s what the nazis called the concentration camps).
That’s shooting was by a guy who was fired and had issues with the newspaper for that, he went postal as you’d say, the paper knew about him but figured if they reported him to the police he might have done it sooner well they also might have stopped him from doing it at all.

He hasn’t declared them anything, as he hasn’t added them to a terrorist list. He did declare antifa to be enemy if the state. He simply spoke his opinion, an opinion most Americans share. Most Americans according to polls don’t trust the media.

@Sly: Historically we're the most fascist-opposed country I can even think of. Our state flipped...

The U.S.' Colorblind Jobs Boom Under Trump Continues
'Inclusive' Boom: It may be a surprise, but President Trump is nowhere near as unpopular among minority voters as the biased mainstream media suggest. Why is that? In a word, jobs.
Trump, it turns out, has been the most consequential president in history when it comes to minority employment. In June, for instance, the unemployment rate for Hispanics and Latinos 16 years and older fell to 4.6%, its lowest level ever, from 4.9% in May. The previous all-time low was 4.8%.
African-American unemployment bounced up from its all-time low of 5.9% in May to 6.5% in June. But that 6.5% still represents the second-lowest unemployment reading ever for Black Americans.
As for Asian-Americans, unemployment similarly bounced off its all-time low of 2.1% in May, rising to 3.2%. And that's still 0.6 percentage point lower than when Trump entered office.
Consider all the good news about minority employment when you hear reports of June's "disappointing" jobs data.
The truth is, the ripping jobs growth that began when Trump entered office and picked up steam after his tax cuts has been good for everyone in America — even liberal media pundits.
And it's also been good for Trump. Because quietly, he is winning over those who have benefited most from his policies: Minorities. On average, minority unemployment has dropped 18% since Trump entered office in January of 2017. More than 2 million people have dropped off food stamps and returned to work.
Despite a relentless media barrage aimed at Trump and his immigration policies, a new Harvard/Harris Poll found a 10% rise in approval for Trump among Hispanics.

Trump White House Has Smaller Staff, Spends Less on Salaries Than Obama White House
Over $20 million in taxpayer funds could be saved at the end of President Donald Trump’s first term in office due to his leaner White House operation.
A new report on the White House Office Personnel revealed that Trump has a significantly smaller staff than his predecessor did at this time, according to an analysis by Open the Books, a government watchdog organization that focuses on spending.
“Although the White House personnel budget is an infinitesimal part of the $3.9 trillion federal budget, it is an important forecasting indicator showing Trump’s deep commitment to cut the size, scope and power of the federal government and reign in waste,” wrote Adam Andrzejewski, CEO of Open the Books, in an op-ed for Forbes.
As of June 30, 2018, the White House currently employs 374 people, three fewer than were employed in 2017. It’s also significantly lower than the 469 that were employed in 2010 by then President Barack Obama.
In addition to maintaining a smaller staff size, Trump’s White House has also cut payroll by over $5 million when compared to Obama’s 2015 staff. The 2018 payroll currently sits at $35.2 million, in contrast to the 2015 payroll which Open the Books reported exceeded $40.9 million.
Open the Books also noted that by maintaining a smaller staff and by refusing to take a salary, Trump has already saved $11 million in taxpayer dollars, and “four-year savings could easily top $22 million.”
Each quarter, Trump has donated his salary, including to the Department of Education, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
Among the various areas in the West Wing with reduced staff, the office of First Lady Melania Trump is notable. Trump has a staff under half the size of then-First Lady Michelle Obama’s in 2009. Trump currently has 10 staffers, while Obama had 24.

This is undoubtably due to the fact that he doesn't owe any political favors, so he doesn't have to play the patronage game.
This guy is turning out better than I expected.
