I may be wrong, but I don't think it's all about religion.
I know lots of extremely religious people in blue states.
Think of the Latino communities in California, for example.
There are more Muslim and RC people in blue states than red.

It’s largely about evangelical Christian beliefs, especially various groups of strict Baptists.

I was going to say the areas with Evangelicals and Baptists have lower populations than blue states, but I guess the laws are decided at state level so it's all relative?

Religion does play a considerable role in how abortion is viewed----especially in fundamentalist/evangelistic sorts of areas.

Yes. It varies considerably from state to state.

People who fight the hardest against abortion usually feel like it’s their moral obligation as Christians. They probably wouldn’t identify Christians who are pro-choice as “true” Christians.

So the reversal of Row Vs Wade will now spur the religious right will now gather their forces to strike down abortion laws /legislation in their states.

I guess the consolation is school board meetings will now be less frequently interrupted by MAGAs (for the moment anyway). I guess that will be the next target for the christian right.

So, in some states American citizens have equal rights as autonomous human beings, and in others they don't?

Just checking.

(smh)

It maybe that many constitutional judgements and amendments used Roe vs Wade as a foundation for legal rights concerning other things .

(Consider kidnappers/ rapists whom believe they can have a child born by their victims , if they are able to imprison them for ? What is it now ? 10 days. Or a few weeks .)

Am very distressed at this Inferior Court decision. This feels like legalizing assault on women . But I am pretty upset just now. The Crazies are running the madhouse . The ramifications of this ruling are extremely scarey.

If they can do this , then they have found that they are able to repeal any civil rights. With possibly no reprocussion s
They have stacked the deck against US citizens by loading the Supreme Court with Judges that are just yes men.

( Conspirascy theory) Perhaps the Gov. Just wishes to see how far they can go before they need to call in martial law in this Country?

If your in this Country please write or call your congressman for your area . Why did none of the judges voting on side consider far ranging effects.
This was a Constitutional guarantee , it is what the US is about . It isn’t a states right issue . It is a Civil Rights issue of this Country .

I can't see any other than total reform. The highest court in the land should not be full of political appointees, full stop. It makes a mockery of the very idea of judicial impartiality. The highest court in the UK has been through much-needed major reforms in the past 20 years to separate the judges from their traditional role in the House of Lords. The Prime Minister now HAS to approve the choice of new member put forth by a commitee from within the legal profession itself.

So this is a flaw in the US political system.

I have a solution.

When baby boys are born we can decree that they don't own their bodies and they aren't equal humans, on the off-chance that they might someday have sex or make a baby accidentally. We can write laws so that they don't own their testes or other organs, and take them away at will even if it risks their life. Then we can attach conjoined twins to their body and force them to raise said twin for 18+ years, or else give the twin up for adoption after they are shamed by their communities and oftentimes thrown out of their homes. They can pay for it too.

Now everyone's equally non-human.
