God(s)...?

Agreed. Well stated.
You may not have a reason to believe in anything. I believe because I am trying to find a reason.
There is more to life than what can be seen and sensed. Physicists have proven it. Molecular biologists have proven it. "LF" autistics have proven it. I refuse to rule anything out, unless I have an actual reason to strike it from the list of possibilities.

Are you saying you will believe anything if there is not evidence to the contrary?
Do you believe in invisible unicorns?
Do you believe in ghosts?
Do you believe in UFOs?
Do you believe in psychics?

I don't understand this. Am I supposed to believe in something for absolutely no reason on the hope that I will eventually meander upon a reason? Forgive me, but I really need you to explain this in greater detail for me.

Yes, but as you just said, it was "proven," and if it was proven, these scientists would have to have a reason to investigate it in the first place.

And I would have to have an even remotely rational reason to add it to the list of possibilities. Just as carroonb stated, you have to demonstrate some degree of discrimination - the existence of undetectable fairies hasn't been explicitly disproven to me, but there is absolutely no reason why I would believe in them.

"Believe" is a very strong word. I said I am not ruling out possibilities. Please don't put words in others' mouths. It doesn't make you appear any more intelligent than the person you are trying to ridicule.
And come on, invisible unicorns?

This mode of thought began during the summer when I was fifteen and started getting really serious about science and skepticism. In my opinion you should have a kneejerk reaction to doubt everything, because if it's true, your doubts will remain fruitless.

Ridicule is never my aim.
Do you believe in god?
If you do, then you are ruling out atheism and agnosticism.
I am agnostic. I believe in nothing other than the existence of other minds. Everything else is not a belief.

I am agnostic too. Meaning I don't assume I know everything. I neither believe in god(s) nor rule it out. If I were an atheist, it would, in my mind, be ruled out. I would have decided already. I've seen no more proof that there is no god than proof that there is one. It is one of life's great unknowns. Like the afterlife, ghosts, reincarnation, true empathy, psychic vibrations, and any number of other things we can imagine or suspect but have no incontrovertible proof of or against.
But people that have faith, even faith in atheism, I envy them.
And UFOs are real. There are plenty of flying objects that have not been identified.

Okay. That's good.
And I was referring to extra-terrestrial UFOs, aliens in other words.

Meh. Who knows?

Is there a possibility that God is actually a 'one millions years in advancement in technology' alien being?
