Oh my, when I read Magnus' comment, I thought she meant she was finished discussing this topic. I did not interpret it as her leaving. Maybe she will return after a break.

I have had conspiracy theories of my own concerning some of the garbage fed to children via the media through what is considered to be harmless cartoons, although I have never considered santa.

I, after a personal message, finally understood the point of this thread.
I am distraught on how others with intellectual sustinance could miscontrue Magnus' own words to make her feel imperfect about something that's healthy; her apt curiousity, her relentless and innocent questioning of the status quo, her intimate and eloquent way of making everyone feel welcomed and most of all, her reception.

I just want all of you, who had nothing better to do than turn to baser drivel and apathetic taunts to PLEASE, GET A LIFE!

Thanks Averick. I am deeply touched by your kindness.

Thank you twoshots and Claire too.

I just need a break from this searching. It seems like a waste of time. My feelings are very real to me but they are not real to other people.

I'm going to try to think differently for a while. I don't want to be delusional so I need to take time to figure out how reliable my inner experiences really are and if they have any bearing on life now. If it's real but it doesn't help matters or if it separates me from loved ones, then it may be better to pretend they aren't real. I'm wasting my time analyzing it I think. Sometimes I really fear that I am crazy for obsessing over spiritual matters. But if I am, I would hope that people could be tolerant toward me. Unintelligent people who believe should be given the same respect too as we all should be accepted for our differences. As long as we are individuals, we will be free.

Atheists, what are your views on archetypes and symbols. Is it all imaginary fairy tail nonsense?

Archetypes are visual symbols or imprints that exist in our psyches. Some are readily understood while others bring subliminal messages that are there to help you trigger your memory of why you are here and the truth behind the illusion of reality. Archetypes can often convey messages that verbal and written information cannot.

Archetypes are found everywhere, as their symbols are a language of the mind, taken to different frequencies of thought and connected to each other by the collective unconsciousness. There are individual and universal archetypes. You become aware of them in meditation and dreaming.

Agnostics, please expand on your views in abstract terms or explain why you can't.

I dont see who archetypes and their symbology in any way preclude atheism. What do these archetypes have to do with anything divine? What makes you think they are even supernatural in the first place?

Tolerance is what you have for something you find difficult to put up with, but do anyway. I doubt this applies to you Magnus; I think there are plenty of people who like rather than tolerate you, and I am certain your contributions to PPR are enjoyed and appreciated by lots of regular reader/posters.

Of course, although this does not really apply to you personally since you are far from unintelligent.

There is a difference between respect and acceptance. I accept unintelligent people that believe, I do not respect them. I respect their right to be unintelligent, and respect their right to believe, but I do not respect them. I do not accept intelligent people that believe, I am merely aware.
