Defending the rights of the press was specifically named in the constitution. To say that the President doesn't need them is ultimately surrendering to totalitarianism.


You're mistaking my intended meaning.
What I'm saying is, Trump isn't dependent on the press for his success.

Punishing abortion is about punishing people, not about reducing the number of abortions. The effective way to reduce the number of abortions is not by punishing anything. You will reduce the number of abortions dramatically with free birth control and comprehensive education.

But in a way he does. Because he was considered little more than a joke when he first entered the race, the media covered every crazy thing he said, and every rally he held for entertainment value, not understanding that this was resonating with a percentage of the American people.
He wouldn't have reached the White House without them.
