You go first, then Sopho later if you get good valuable results ;)
That would be fair, wouldn't it?

If I had consensual sex with a man, I would be gay. If I repented of it later, I would be straight.

lol OK, I guess everyone should just give up now then. Ragtime doesn't even understand what gay and straight are.

WRONG!

if you have an attraction with a man, you would be gay
if you are with a woman and are attracted to her as well, it would make you bisexual.
if you had consensual sex with a man and repented later, you were really never gay, or if you were, you would be confused because of external factors, as the religion dogma against it for example.

In a manner of speaking, yes.

That's not their sexual orientation though. Are you asexual? You're not having sex right now, by your logic that means you're no longer straight.

 Straight means not gay.

And it doesn't just mean not straight. There are plenty more sexualities than just straight and gay.

Yeah, this clearly shows his ignorance about sexuality in all areas, and I admit my ignorance about a few stuff, this guy is a lot worse.

I was speaking in a context, obviously. The context was that Sopho said that by my definition I'm no longer straight if I'm not currently having sex, but what she failed to factor in is intent. I plan to have, if any sex at all, straight sex and only straight sex. That makes me straight. And it's not my biological predisposition toward women that makes me straight, it's my willful intent to have only straight sex that makes me straight.

Well, we've reached page 80, and have accomplished ostensibly nothing. Congrats all around.

If someone's straight, it's because they're attracted to women (if they're a man). It's as simple as that. I could go and have sex with a man, it wouldn't make me straight though. I could have easily gone down that route a couple years ago, when I was in denial about not being straight. I would never have been straight though, no matter how many guys I f****d.

Calm down, Ragtime... 8)
Sex is the focal point for you. Not everyone is like you, thank god.

Most people like a good roll in the hay. Glad most aren't like you either. 8)

Why? What have I ever done to you? You're the one trying to deny me my rights. Not the other way round.
I'm not saying I don't ever want to have sex with anyone, I'm saying there are more important things than sex in a relationship, for me.

Well, I wouldn't want everyone to be like me either. I wouldn't everyone to be like ANY one person -- that would be frightening. And don't try to one-up me -- I think there are more important things than sex too, on higher plains, but on the physical plain, romantic relationships are focused -- either loosely or tightly -- around the prospect of sex.

Do you want a romantic relationship? Or just an emotionally intimate one? I would define the first as dating, and the second as friendship.

I'm not going round looking for either. But if I had a girlfriend it would be a romantic relationship. It wouldn't focus on sex though.

What about touching? I don't know what you define as "romantic".

Having sexual activity doesn't make anyone be straight or gay or bi, it is about the attraction, the orientation, not the activity.

I'm not straight because I never had sex? So I am asexual? That doesn't make sense.

Someone can be gay and never had sex either, that person knows because he/she has the attraction to the same sex.

THE definitions actually. He's right. Sexual orientation is about attraction, not actions, for the last time. Jesus, Ragtime, even a ret*d Christian should be able to understand this.
