Atheist kills muslims and Gun Control a bad thing?
Guns aren't going anywhere. To say otherwise is just right wing propaganda to keep the crackers hating liberals.
So, you consider those who are pro gun ownership to be crackers??
No, not at all. I'm talking about those people who are manipulated by the right by their own willful ignorance. As a matter of fact, my dad had been a gun owner.
manipulated by the right lol nope. I get all my they want to take my guns straight from the liberal democrat's mouths saying we want to take your guns. some will say it out right, some will say it in private meetings, or anti gun gatherings. rather prefer the first to the second. at least they honest and upfront. then theres the laws they pass, had one in oregon that was all about taking guns, well 99% of them you could keep one, if you registered it, stored it in a safe at all times, and registered the safe location, oh and the police could once a year search anyones house to make sure they have just the one gun they said, or in case of non gun owners have 0 guns. luckly people weren't stupid and rejected this law, though some of the left really pushed for it.
The ultimate goal of anti-gunners is the elimination of private gun ownership. Period. The cold hard fact is that it's impossible and they know that so they go after them incrementally. They ban them by type and features, go after hi-capacity magazines, go after ammo via taxes and storage restrictions, try and close shooting ranges under the cloak of public safety and environmental concerns, etc.
I did some research just for my own edification. What has primarily driven sales of "assault rifles" (not a real term) has been the anti-gunners screeching about them and trying to pass legislation. The AR-15, for example, has been on the civilian market since 1963 or 64 yet acceptance was relatively slow over the next few decades. It wasn't until the late 80's and 90's when the "we've gotta get these dangerous assault weapons of the streets!!" screeching began that sales went up. Furthermore in 2009 when anti-gun legislation was expected in the wake of the Obama inauguration. Again in 2012-13 after the school shooting in Connecticut. Tell people they can't have something or it's going to be banned and all the sudden they can't wait to get one (or two or three). The 2009 and 2012 triggered a huge surge in AR-15 and AK-47/AK-74 sales. You couldn't even find one to buy in any gun shop. Ammo in common calibers was horded by the 500 and 1000 round cases to where it was generally unavailable for over a year. It was a windfall of biblical proportions for the gun industry.
Lesson: If the antis had kept their collective mouths shut for the past 25 years there would be no significant number of "dangerous assault weapons" to fuss and whine about.
right now they are planning to ban the 62 grain 556, then probably ar pistols and all 223/556. I'd right to the atf about it but I'm not much a writer, so i don't know what to write besides no don't do it. i'd suggest you email them .
Well, some clearly fit the bill.
And anyone who thinks Asperger's is a mental illness doesn't know what Asperger's really is.
at last, they see anyone who is born different mentally as mentally ill. if you don't fit the ideal of normal then you mentally ill etc. then theres people who worked with some autistic/aspies who from what I gather are on the bad end of the spectrum but lop all aspies in as being like that. yet they wouldn't meet a black criminal ans assume all black people are criminals. that would be racist. >.> doctors too fall in to this. aspies shouldn't drive, own guns/knifes etc. how dare they think they can decide what happens to a massive group of people based off of one person. this issue is united by both right and left.
I think you know I'm talking about how the right plays up on anti-LGBT and racist sentiments people harbor, as well as manipulating people to oppose any sort of healthcare or social safety net with bullsh*t talk of individualism and deliberate misrepresentation of socialism. The gun scheme in Oregon didn't work, but the right's appeal to the worst in people unfortunately does.
nope. how was I suppose to know you transitioned from guns to gay rights?
the healthcare law they passed has some faults, it also does some good, I'm torn on it.
nope but expect to be disliked by both right and left.
I'm similar so i get hate from both sides just about different issues.

I used gay rights as an example of how the right appeals to the basest prejudices people have.

The homophobia thingy is on the wane with the mainstream right. If you'd stop doting on Limbaugh and Beck you might actually learn something......

I've known for years that I have beliefs that don't line up with either side of the traditional political spectrum. Extremists annoy me regardless of if they're on the far-left or the far-right.

Oh yeah? That's why I suppose LGBT rights are doing so well in red states like Alabama. Just because national conservative leaders in D.C. know gay marriage is inevitable hardly means conservatives throughout the rest of the country are seeing things in the same light. There are people in such places who still think civil rights and interracial marriage are bad things.

Amen, definitely the case where I live too, in LA, Lower Alabama, AKA the red state super patriarchal area, rated number one in that DEMOGRAPHIC by a recent study, AKA the Western Panhandle of Florida, where the military and fundamentalist churches are 'everywhere' one looks.....
The crime rate is low, and women overall are treated with respect, in my pocket OF locality underneath the higher populated metro area but nah, go a few miles north of me, and black folks are still talked about as less than white humans and homosexuals are still considered demon possessed in behavior even by popular preachers, preaching that ANTIQUATED CRAP, paraphrased out of a 3500 year old 'book', ON THE most popular AND ONLY local radio station.
And stuff like single mothers should be sterilized who cannot get off of welfare within a designated period of time determined by the SO CALLED CHRISTIAN RADIO HOST.
IT IS DISGUSTING AND REAL.
AND I GIVE 'EM 'HELL', BOTH VERBALLY AND IN WRITING.
AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I HAVE CHANGED THEIR WAYS OF DOING THINGS, EVEN IN MY CHURCH, AS I FOR ONE AM FEARLESS WHEN IT COMES TO DEFENDING THE LESSER PERCEIVED AMONG THE 'REDNECK' AND MILITARY LEANING PATRIARCHAL FOLKS IN MY PATRIARCHAL 'RED NECK AREA'.
BUT yeah, human nature STILL rules, and being a fearless martial AND DANCE artist, at 233LBS, lifting 930 LBS 12 TIMES WITH MY LEGS gets around in a small town like the one I live in.
NO one, and I do MEAN NO ONE, messes with me anymore in my local area, FACE TO FACE, as I keep nothing about myself secret and do it ALL OUT IN THE OPEN. Even the thug looking folks scurry to their car at night, when they see me coming, as I am often recognized as law enforcement too, and maybe that is in my genetics, PER THE WARRIOR GENE THINGY LOOK, as my father did it for 46 years, HA! ha!...
AT FIRST, when I was an 'apprentice' they did a little bit BUT NO MORE APPRENTICE FOR ME..

I was bullied in an extreme way verbally when I was growing up, as a rather fragile and weak looking male specimen, and I have little patience for bullies, as a result of that and watching other folks being bullied throughout the course of my life.
But I for one, never have to actually verbally or physically bully anyone else.
I can use wit and intelligence to 'beat them' out of it almost every time, as a lifelong practice of dealing with literally close to 100,000 people, working with the general public and military for decades, as a life long practice of practicing human being.
And HELL NO, I FOR ONE NEED NO FRIGGING GUN TO GET THE JOB DONE.
BUT WITH THAT SAID, I DO BELIEVE IN SECOND AMENDMENT GUN RIGHTS wITH reasonable GUN CONTROL.
THERE are simply some folks who are too weak and fragile to defend themselves, who do live in very dangerous areas.
I live in a neighborhood that hasn't been robbed in decades.
I can leave my doors open in the day without worrying about it but I lock them anyway, just for GOOD MEASURE..

And to be clear there are 'tons of rednecks' that live in my neighborhood armed to the max in their household, and yes I readily admit THAT HELPS KEEPS THE ROBBERS AWAY.
THE GUN RACKS ARE IN CLEAR VISIBILITY, WHEN ONE PASSES by the four wheel drives...in the drive ways of 'RED NECK LIFE'..!
I LIKE good "ole' boys", AS long as they TREAT EVERYONE WITH RESPECT.

I guess I should be talking to someone that knows what's meant by "on the wane" or the definition of "mainstream".

I do know the definitions of those terms; I just happen to disagree that homophobia is "on the wane" among the conservative "Mainstream." Maybe it is among conservatives in the Spokane area, but hardly so if you go thirty miles east into conservative Idaho.

No, I'm saying that conservatives aren't getting as open minded as your national leadership claims.

But conservative national leaders expect you to.
