maybe i just don't know part of the story, but it's confusing to me why obama is seen as belonging to the same demographic as that of people whose ancestors were once slaves in the u.s., especially considering his (arguably peculiar and fairly unique) upbringing. from my point of view, his father might as well have been pakistani. or am i missing something?

Are you deriving that from actual Obama supporters? Or had you learned that on Fox or Breitbart?
