Yeah, there is always the M.O.A.B., which would be ironic to use against Israels enemies if the east side ever started acting as insane as the west side.

That's intentional. The east side is land locked. The west side is the land that the Israelis want to capture at this point. The West Bank is mostly captured via settlements at this point. Or to put it in pictures:

Ah, and here is circa 1500 BC,

And then after the conquests of Joshua,

But if you really want to see conquest on a larger scale than that of the state of Connecticut, perhaps some historical maps of Egyptian, Sumerian, Hittite, Assyrian, Babylonian, Medio-Persian, Macedonian, Roman, Chinese, Ottoman, British, Spanish, Portuguese, or French empires would be educational.

The Committee to Protect Journalists has denounced Israel's editing and distribution of footage confiscated from foreign journalists aboard the Gaza-bound flotilla.

The New York-based press watchdog accuses the Israeli defence force of releasing edited portions of confiscated video on YouTube that fail to get across the reality.

It refers to claims by the Foreign Press Association in Israel that the military "is selectively using footage to bolster its claims that commandos opened fire only after being attacked."

The CPJ has called on the Israeli government to return all equipment, notes, and footage confiscated from journalists.

Its Middle East and North Africa programme coordinator, Mohamed Abdel Dayem, said: "Israel has confiscated journalistic material and then manipulated it to serve its interests. It must cease this practice without delay, and return all property seized from journalists who were covering this legitimate news event."

He also complained about "the treatment meted out" to journalists as being unacceptable. "It is Israel's responsibility to conduct its operations in ways that also allow journalists to report the news," he said.

I am perplexed.

The second choice is the lesser of two evils. Also, Muslim is not an ethnicity but a religion, and most people who hate Israel on PPR don't seem to mind hating Christianity, so they would be hypocrites to speak against others who are opposed to Islam. Being an Israeli is to have a nationality and being ethnically Jewish is not the same as professing the ideology of Judaism (which isn't bad either), so being anti-Muslim is far less of a thought crime than being antisemitic.

Oh, and yet more to dismiss! Probably shall be dismissed just due to the channel the speech was aired on, rather than based on any content of the speech:

If Israel really didn't want a confrontation, they would just let the Rachel Corrie through. She is just carrying cement to help rebuild the devastation from Israel's last invasion of Gaza.

A rather selective segment there. That video occurs after the Israelis first fired concussion grenades and tear gas onto the ship, and attempted an assault, which failed, from small boats. After those kinds of attacks, the people on the ship were more than justified in trying to fight off the next attack.

Speaking of videos, here's an excellent analysis of the situation:

There is an interesting analysis of the Israeli action against the recent relief convoy at http://www.counterpunch.org/amiri06042010.html

It indicates the real purpose was to ensure that there would be no attempts at resolving the Palestinian question so that Israel would be free to act as a rogue state taking over new Palestinian territory.
It makes sense.

1) Cement is only allowed in for approved construction projects because it can also be used to build bunkers and other fortifications.
2) Israel cannot afford to let the ship through because it would be a sign of weakness and would encourage more similar incidents.
3) Letting the ship through would be a big symbolic victory for hamas.

If the ppl for Gaza didn't want confrontation they would accept the agreement signed by the Irish and the Israeli governments
Unload at Ashdod and Israel would sent everything into Gaza, including the cement
Gaza it's at war with Israel so any peace loving sane human being should have no problem at accepting israel right to control what goes there
If ppl on this ship want to help Gaza they have a way of delivering that help
Problem is they don't care about Gaza
All they want is confrontation
And they know perfectly well they can rely on the stupidity and hateful ignorance of the masses represented all too well by ppl on this thread/

BTW
The sentence u commented on was a link to an article and not a statement

Well,At least this time no one got hurt,I wonder why is that ?
The answer is very simple and clear but i'm sure u and the rest of the clowns on this thread would save no effort to find the most distorted explanation in order to avoid it.
I's so obvious that u need blood and violence to feed your hate and so did the jihadists on board the Marmara,
At least they were not shy or hypocritical about their quest for martyrdom and unlike u payed with their own blood and not with the blood of others,

And whatever else might be sent in the holds of this ship or the other ships to come.
