I think the Asian and African immigrants will blend with us and become aware of the value of our values. We haven't held them this long because they don't work. I don't think western civilization will be washed away, I think all the cultures of the world will blend into one, and hopefully, the best of all will take root. It is interesting because different cultures are all coming together at once. I was at the bus stop this morning and two women were talking in an Asian language. I didn't have a clue what they were saying, but the language sounded neat. Languages blend too. Chances are in a couple of generations English will be a lot different. The thing is that I don't see this as a bad thing. Change is constant. As an autistic person, it is my instinct to preserve the moment, but this is not how life works.

Blending the world's cultures into one would be an awful awful thing, slaves to an unaccountable untouchable New World Order. Averaged out, our quality of life will go down and our values will be diluted not the other way around. There are many many more billions of them than there are of us, globalism is the death of western civilization.

I disagree. I think the values of western civilization will survive. African and Asian cultures may have been around longer (although, western culture goes back to Ancient Greece,) but they adapt too. And I think that you may be discounting the possibility that their cultures' have something of value to offer.

Seriously, blending the world's cultures into a single, uniform monoculture is NOT gonna happen. Period. Do you actually think the Chinese want their 5,000 year old civilization tainted by decadent western globalism? Oh hellz naw!

It's already happening whether anybody wants it or not. Technology and ease of travel make it inevitable.
The Chinese civilization has a lot to offer - a blending of Christianity and Buddhism would be awesome.

There's a global internet culture for sure, but that's not quite the same thing as a unified world culture. Ease of travel and communication technology make it possible for different cultures to exchange ideas but the complete disappearance of distinct cultures isn't something to be worried about.

They are. And recently, radfem Germaine Greer was BANNED from making hate speech at a University in the UK! The kind of censorship that she advocated is now coming back to bite her. Ya reap whatcha sow, ladybro!

And a lot of the people pulling for her not to speak were third wave feminists who think that her form of transphobia is no longer acceptable in feminism. Third wave feminism seeks to be inclusive of trans women and she is one of the ones who says that trans women aren't real women, and because of that many feminists basically disowned her. http://jezebel.com/germaine-greer-says-caitlyn-jenner-transgender-women-a-1738550360

I don't criticise Germaine Greer bot becuase she is pro-censorship. I haven't seen evidence she is pro-censorship. I remember one of the Newsnight review show where there were reviewing a French film with a graffic rape scene and she said she was against censorship, even though she found it hard to watch.

I do critisise Germaine Greer for some of her views and am supportive of gender and sexuality rights, I made a thread about it.

However these third wave feminists in question may be more inclusive of trans people and I'm all in favour of that, but they are not wholly inclusive either. They are very quick to revert to a culture of labeling and classifying people. So in essence they also judgmental, and sure as hell if anyone make criticisms of their views they will be quick to shut that down or exclude it.

I didn't say anything about censorship--the big issue most modern (ie third wave) feminists have with her is not her views on censorship, but rather her view that trans women are not real women--because all the feminists I have spoken to (in person and online) want to include trans women in the movement and want them to be considered just as much real women as cis women are, and for them to have an equal voice in the feminist movement. I think I stated this pretty explicitly, so I'm not sure why you're talking about censorship.
