SJWs need to learn to get a grip, and so do neoconservatives. Whichever way you slice it, political correctness is BS. It doesn't matter if it comes from the far left or the far right, because it's all pretty much the same. The world isn't a nice place, and it's never going to be a utopia. That's just how things are. I'm not saying no one has a right to be offended, we all have our personal opinions and feelings on things, but I am highly against censorship, and highly in favor of free speech.

There is thoughtful and kind and there is going so far overboard you can't even see Rose and Jack. Many of these offenses are the latter.

When something is deemed offensive because it simply reminds a handful of people of an entirely different word, thing, act, movement, or idea that is itself offensive and the person associates with the original something is made to apologize for something they didn't even do and to apologize that an unrelated thing inadvertently caused another to think of something that offends them then yeah that's way too much and needs to stop.

That is trivial. That is petty. And that is forcing someone else to take responsibility for the way your (collective your) mind works.

Maybe you can address this please. Biore didn't make the charcoal mask to look like blackface. Charcoal is black. But it's supposed to clean pores. You put the mask on and wash it off after a few .. You look funny with it on just like any other brand or type. Kids put it on and thought they looked silly and posted a photo. Of a mask. For ppres. It reminded someone else of blackface which is racist. So they had to apologize for it. Twp unrelated and different things and anyone can see that. But hey it's an offense now.

How is that above incident even close to OK?

Will you please explain it to me. I really want to hear the rationale. Not in a smarmy way but sincerely asking. Is there even a logical explanation? I would have explained to whoever complained what it was and how and why it's used and let them know its not a racist incident. Then I would have asked why they thought it was. Maybe talked about how things can have many meanings and the importance of intent and also of clarification and not acting until sure there is no misunderstanding. I would have asked if the person had been just really bullied or picked on about race or experienced other things like that and would have tried to help them understand that while it's easy to go for a knee jerk reaction because we are used to one thing, many times its another and in situations like this neither party should be misjudged because both are innocent.

That's how I would have handled it. I think that's a good way. Why would that be wrong.

Any why was the photo so wrong in the first place? It was skincare. They didn't have sheets on their heads and didn't even think to I'm sure. A conclusion was jumped to which made two people look bad because something reminded another person of a different bit offensive thing. Thats not right at all. Please explain how it is.

Notice the very consistent straw men:

Anti SJW: "I'm tired of people going out of their way to be offended by things that require effort to take offense at".

SJW: "Who wouldn't be offended by racism and people in blackface!"

Anti SJW: "Who said anything about blackface? I was talking about people being offended because someone said they like meritocracy.

SJW: "Why are you okay with blackface? You're probably a Nazi, or maybe in the KKK..."

It's startlingly similar, almost as if they're all working off the same playbook...

Only thing better than a strawman is extreme hyperbole.

If I do, it's wrong. Not saying that we need to bend over backwards to keep from offending anyone, but that if something DOES upset someone, those feelings need to be taken into consideration and not dismissed as whining.

You're presenting something of a false dichotomy here. It's entirely possible (and seemingly quite common) to both consider someone's feelings and to dismiss them, having deemed the complainant to be demonstrating unreasonable sensitivity. For example, the tender sensibilities of some religious folks should be no impediment to statements like the following:

Mass murder is not based on a political philosophy it's based on a function of power: eliminate those challenging your power. Hitler: we have to eliminate Jews because they are different and therefore a threat. Stalin: we have to eliminate Jews, gypsies, and ethnic minorities because they are different and therefore a threat. The British Parliament: we have to eliminate the Boers, they are different and therefore a threat. Emperor Nero: we have to eliminate Christians because they are different and therefore a threat. It transcends politics, even democracy is not immune.
