If this comment was directed at me..... I wasn't laughing at the possibility of a stolen gun----I was laughing at your non-logical hypothetical.

This is what errodes trust in gun proponents, what's illogical is pretending freak accidents are uncommon.

Sure, accidents can happen----but, if a kid is allowed to play in a car, UNsupervised, I wouldn't call it a "freak accident", I would call it "an accident waiting to happen".

Often, when one hears of a kid accidentally shooting someone (sibling or parent), the kid either hasn't been raised in a gun culture, or hasn't been taught to respect guns, and that they're not toys.

Why have I and all of my siblings (I'm 8th of 10 kids) been raised around guns all of our lives, and not ONCE has any such "freak accident" happened? Because we were raised in a gun culture, taught not to play with them, taught to respect them, and taught to handle / shoot them, when we had the maturity to do so----for me, it was around 8 y.o. One of my cousins, was alot older cuz he was a momma's boy, and a total idiot!

She has a 2010. And has about 66,000 miles on it.

I see many 2001's on the road these days. 17-year-old cars!

mine is a '97 [inherited it from mom] with about that amount of miles on it also, it was/is a Saturday-only car for her and me.

You'll probably have it forever......

Especially if you're good with maintenance.

i'm lousy with maintenance, I lack the mechanical genes, all of which my siblings got. but thankfully it has been [typical for Honda and Toyota autos] scarily reliable so far, the only things are that the interior lights lately keep blowing out for some reason.

Figures a semi-auto gun advocate would want to ban the manual transmission.

I'm more inclined to know how mechanisms work than to repackage instruments of death. Guns aren't the only fine pieces of engineering to geek out on.

LOL You think a person who smashes-in a car window, can't also smash a locked glove box?

I don't think Raptor would let kids play in his vehicle without his supervision----and, anyway, why would a kid be playing in a car (assuming it's in somebody's driveway)? And, if they're playing in a car, while the car is in motion, why aren't they in the backseat, where they belong, by law? And, if they're old enough to be in the front seat, he would probably be leaning on the armrest, where his gun was.

The reason I keep my guns locked up is to protect ME from loss. Playing in a stranger's car? I think it's pretty obvious that cberg is still grasping at straws.

Right again. If they get unruly with me they know they'll get a good taste o' the strap. None of that psychology s**t for me.

I'm not exactly starving for logical arguments when the gun people are canonizing child abuse.

I just needed a break. Hippies gotta munch.

But he doesnt and won't. Guess what, there've been a few times when I've kept my AR-15 carbine in the car with several loaded 30 round magazines.
Plastic "flap" over the armrest box?
What kinda cheap ass car do you drive?

Smashing into cars is crime in itself. I don't lock things up to protect criminals from themselves, but to protect me from loss.

No goofy biometric safeties for this kid.

I wonder if I could bulletproof a Mitsubishi Mirage. :jester:

Color me very surprised you don't rock an actual gun rack. I'm talking about locking guns up to protect innocents from anyone who might get into them.

Let me give you a peice of friendly advice: Don't be a bleeder on any internet forum unless you're just doing it jokingly. All you do by bleeding is provide food for trolls. They have fun and you suffer needlessly, and there's no getting rid of a skilled troll....at least not permanently.

Remember that, and live long and prosper.

^Most of my vehicles have been 5-speed manual. I have no issues with manual but over time they can become a pain in city traffic with all the stop and go.

Who called for banning manual transmission?
