Putin announces mobilisation. His "reasoning" does not in any way attempt to connect to the reality.

Also, a new decree gives 10 years in prison for willful surrender.

He's leading Russia towards doom, trying to take as many as he can with him. Strange to live in such times. These demons from 80 years ago were meant to stay buried!

China Gives Clearest Support for Russia's Invasion of Ukraine So Far

Quote:
Asenior Chinese official has offered Beijing's strongest support yet for the Kremlin's war in Ukraine, footage released by Russia's State Duma shows.

Li Zhanshu, who is the No. 3 in China's leadership, visited Moscow last week and pledged his country's "understanding and full support" during a meeting on September 9 with senior Russian figures. They included Vyacheslav Volodin, chair of the Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament.

Li, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, told the Russian lawmakers: "On the Ukraine issue, for example, the United States and NATO are expanding directly on Russia's doorstep, threatening Russia's national security and the lives of Russian citizens.

So, they support them in words, repeating their narrative.
But the crucial part is not words but electronics. With Western sanctions, Russia is unable to produce and repair high-tech weapons. They buy drones in Iran, another already sanctioned country.
I doubt China would like to join that club, so I expect them to stay "balanced", repeating anti-Western propaganda (you don't get sanctioned for that) but not providing Russia with necessary supplies.

One lesser understood fact is that military chips are mostly very basic.

The same is probably true in the US the chips used in their cruise missiles and maybe even latest F35 / B2 are tasked to do a simple number crunching Job that they do very well.

A good example is the appolo moon rocket landing computer which had the power of a modern pocket calculator and weighed about 50kg.

It did it’s job very well back in 1969.

Chip power is mostly essential for graphics intensive work and other speciality fields.

Russia designs and builds their own military chips which are about 20 years behind latest from E Asia which are leaders

Interesting information about Russian plans at the present time:

It seems that also, Russia's allies Kazakhstan and Iran are starting to pull away from them as well, rejecting brutal and totalitarian regimes.

With the well-proven incompetence of their command? No one would.

Exactly. Hopefully this will lead to Russia collapsing.

It's an open question what Russia becomes next.
They collapsed in 1905 and 1917 and 1991...

So are we. You live in European Lowlands, you get invaded every now and then.
The question is: will they rebuild themselves as a civilized society this time or as a lie-founded, brutal dictatorship again?

Yes, even an island like Britain has been invaded numerous times.

I dread to think what will happen with Russia.

Im hoping they rebuild as a better society. Simply because despite their long history of doing atrocious things, Russians are still human beings just like the rest of us.

I finally realized it makes me feel better to hope for the best in humans instead of being quick to write off all humans as evil.

I've even seen videos of Russian soldiers who were captured crying because they didnt want this stupid war to happen. So that tells me they can't all be as evil as Putin.

I see Russians already found a good nickname for the mobilsation: Mogilisation. From "mogila" - grave.
