Those days are gone. Your examples are outdated. Small businesses and entreprenuers get crushed today. Walmart wins and everyone else falls into working poor category.

I'm working for a successful small company. The "Walmarts" in the tech sector tend to buy up small companies because they don't have expertise in house and that expertise starts in small companies.

If you want to be successful, you need to supply something that customers want better than your competitors can. Walmart is winning against smaller retailers only because it's doing the job that it's customers want better.

Both the Dems and Pubbies have become loose "big tent" coalitions that wll accept practically anyone to get a vote. Traditional fiscal conservatives like Ron Paul are excluded because they alienate the middle.

The parties no longer represent distinct positions and are largely identical, so I think they're superfluous. Get rid of them and let everyone who wants to run do so in the final election, and get rid of primaries altogether. California demonstrated that it's practical to do so in the last gubernatorial election, when there were dozens of candidates running. Eliminate primaries and you don't need to worry about having viable third parties. Everyone becomes an independent.

Nonsense! The Democratic Party is specatacularly well-organized - it most be to gather together so many idealistic, young centre-leftists and thoroughly remove any hope from them.
