I think World President candidate PZ Myers said it best:

Quote:
If it makes you angry, turn your outrage into something constructive and use it to motivate you to donate to Haitian relief first. Deal with the evil scumbag Robertson later.

I think Pat Robertson should be allowed to speak is narrow mind...

... under the deafening sound of a chorus of laughter and ridicule.

"Free Speech even for douchebags."

Whether Pat Robertson said it or not you have to understand that all people who believe in God actually see natural disasters as acts of God... Or can the devil make earthquakes?

Don't escapegoat this man, he at least is being honest about his beliefs.

Being honest about being stupid is nothing to be proud about. Where are the religious leaders who believe in compassion and decency? Why isn't the religious community up in arms about being represented by a total as*hole?

What these people are proud of is not stupid to them.

To preach about such illogical and backwards concepts you have to be an as*hole in the first place.
Religious people see only their religious gurus representing them. They don't see themselves as a whole("God-believers").
Religion is so vague when it comes to assigning leaders anyone with fancy words can deceive and sometimes even create sects.

On Robertson, only 2% of me thinks he really believes in what he says. The other 98% of me believes that he is a con artist trying to make money off of weak minded people.

Al Frankin used to do a hilarious impression of Robertson back in the early 90's when he ran for US president.

Actually Robertson seems to be confessing that death is a punishment and all those unfortunate Haitians who are joining God in Heaven and escaping the misery of living in Haiti are being punished by joining God in Heaven. Since Robertson and everyone else alive will, at end, die, he and we will all be punished the same way. A clear indication of his lack of faith.

Jesus said
"Whatsoever you do to the least of the brothers (or people) you have done to me."

The problem with religion is not just
they don't practice what they preach
but
they don't even read their own holy books.

I DON'T BELIEVE THE BS THAT SOMEONE
READ AN ARAB BIBLE AND THEN LEFT IT
BEHIND TO GO BLOW THEMSELVES UP.
There isn't even anything about 70 virgins in it either.

Sadly, it's entirely possible to be deeply unpleasant to people while following the Qur'an to the letter. :(

But secular law or martial law doesn't pretend to be the ultimate answer to human relationships.

I think we need to contact his sponsers and producers and say will not buy/watch any of their products if they continue to support him...you can also contact a national civil rights organization to put some weight on him. They managed to take some CNN news anchor off the air...I forgot who it was but he was someone that alot of people disliked his racist remarks.

He uses his influence to promote white supremacy...hear about those blood diamonds.
If this was a wealthy european nation that suffered such a strike...it would be God bless them...send in your prayer seeds (money). He also blamed what happened in Katrina on the victims (mostly black and too poor to leave beforehand) saying that it was because of the areas sexual past that God has cursed them. Well first off Mardi Gras is a middle class tourist thing...and it wasn't the tourists that were too poor to leave. The ones that were "left behind" are the ones who did not participate in Mardi Gras because they did not have the money plus in most tourists towns the locals dont get too excited about such festivities...it is viewed more as anoying because really hard to get around the traffic to get on the buisness of surviving. And becides the french quarter was repairable within 3-6 months and was on higher land so it suffered less flooding, the low income neighborhoods by the levy got the worst of it and is still being rebuilt.

But in three instances he that I know of, he has proved my suspicions to be correct.

Read the article

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/01/13/haiti. ... index.html

cut and paste

anyway the haitians trouble started with the french...they did overthrow the french, but in the agreement with the French (not the devil) they would leave under one condition...if the french took all their trees, so that is what happened...and when you cut down a rainforest...the rain stops because the trees hold the moisture that is re-entered into the clouds and...then it rains again and again that way. Without trees, it is a desert wasteland, so that is what happened. I think Robbinson is a racist because he blamed the ppl in new orleans for their tragity too, in both instances, it was the poor minority populations that suffered the most that he blames for their own fate.

Someone needs to muzzle this man, he obviously has rabies.

Robertson is a clown. He is not the problem. It's that too many people take him seriously. They are the problem.

The smartest thing you've said on this board.

The preacher has a right to express his views no matter how wretched his views are. If you value your own freedom of speech you will defend his.
