Wow.

This forum has been consistently hopeless.

Naah! We just take in tough subjects. You can't win them all.

eternity sounds great as long as I have some company to talk about how much longer till absolute zero with. And the way I imagine eternity is like this:
1) find a ruler, preferably metric.
2) take the smallest unit and divide it into 10s
3) repeat
4) repeat again.
5) now the tricky part: imagine yourself repeating the process.
6) as you imagine yourself doing that try feeling it.
7) once you can feel it, skip to eternity.
8) at that split second you "feel" eternity, visualize the sensation.
9) if this fails there aren't many other ways to do it. I haven't found one as good as this one but I'm all ears if you have.

What most people don't realize is that infinity and eternity are not times and places. They are processes to get somewhere and some time and, of course, you never arrive. The processes can be dealt with but not the endpoints which never appear.

As far as I understand it dead souls don't eat or defecate and flying on a cloud can get pretty boring compared to driving a fast sports car. If I'm wrong the world must be over neck deep in ghost droppings. I'm sure all those bored angels dream all the time of the pleasures of being alive.

If she was so hungry for an apple, the Eden was probably crappier than we thought.

In other words it was the first protest against authoritarian censorship. Like what's going on in China with Google.

Considering your stated faith you should be careful of accusing God of imperfection.

You did indicate some belief in the Biblical story of Adam and Eve. Am I incorrect?

yes, but i dont believe in the hebrew god. its quite obvious that most of the early storys in the bible can be directly ripped off of the sumerians. wich would include their god, i think god is an alien, some aspects of the bible more than likely is true but men used thier knowelege of the time to best described what they knew or saw

What you object to me is not that I am grumpy. It is my open arrogance at being continually confronted with so much silly nonsense when extremely well informed bright people (much brighter than me) have clearly indicated how foolish much of religious doctrine is and how much real damage it has and is still contributing to humanity. I had tried many times to appeal to logic and good sense in this area and found it is entirely useless. I am not trying to make friends with you, I am trying to indicate where your thinking is not reasonable. I am not convinced of my superior knowledge but I do the best I can with what I have and I am trying to get you to do the same thing. I am sure you are trying but it seems to me you are not particularly successful. But, at least you are trying. Most people do not even do that.

Whether there is a God or not cannot be determined but whether a God is important enough to take into consideration in making important decisions is a worthwhile consideration. We each of us have only a short time to remain alive and it is important that we spend it well. I am rather passionate about that. Wandering off into ancient fantasies can be entertaining but it is very important to keep them in their proper place.

You spoke of witnesses to Biblical events. Even by Biblical standards there could have been no witnesses to the myth of Adam and Eve and so it cannot be verified that way. All evidence points to humans evolving from previous animals. That's the only thing that makes sense.

sand your fault lies in your arrogance. you think your right and thats why your trying to convince me of whatever it is you want me to believe. just stop it already and let me believe my silly little ideas. you can shed no light, knowelege, or some hidden thing to me. do you get it now? im not really intrested in your grumpy attitude twords everything. im shure you live alone and feed birds in the city square for companionship because your a miserable person, infact your the worst case i've seen online
