well, it depends on what is our criteria to conclude that it is a good band, is it succes? is it fame? is it because the performers are sexy? is it because the music is good to our ears? is it because of artistic merits regarding composition and innovation?

Or how about the level of awesomeness that has never been achieved before or since?

Are you somehow confusing Metallica with Dvořák?

By the way, I can imagine Metallica being invisible above in the sky.

OK... My first instinct is to not respond AT ALL because I just happen to know, with your musical background, you have all the aesthetic sensibilities of a camel sphincter. HOWEVER, because I also know that there be yet those untainted by such vile blasphemy, I'm COMPELLED to respond to ensure this never comes to pass.

Your precious Duh-Voor-Jack was covering Metallica songs with his own metal band over a hundred years before Lars Ulrich was even a twinkle in his mother's eye. I can see them all now in their pre-incarnate greatness jamming together. But Duh-Voor-Jack had the unfortunate fate of being born at time when the most he could possibly hope for was to write a couple of dinky little symphonies. I'm very sure he looked forward to his own death when he could return to Valhalla and never again lament or mourn the greatness that could never be in his earthly lifetime.

Besides, Duh-Voor-Jack wasn't even really that great a composer. You need to listen to REAL music by composers like Carl Maria von Weber and Richard Wagner.

Watching down from satellites in an attempt to catch you filesharing?

You're the clarinetist here.

Both great composers as well, but Wagner does not match Dvořák.

Agreed. Wagner is far superior.

Well, that is a matter of subjective opinion. What is not subjective, however, is that Metallica sucks.

Ok, my question is just what songs. I mean, I can grant that Metallica may have a number of bad songs, as I am not obsessed with the band so I wouldn't know if it did or didn't, but I cannot grant that every song made by Metallica is not worth listening to.

There is no song in the entire genre worth listening to.

Actually, most of the entire genre sucks.

Hold on, you dislike hard rock and heavy metal? I apologize, but we can no longer associate with each other.

This is quite possibly the most heavily jacked thread I have ever seen. How did you guys go from debating believing in an invisible God to talking about Metallica?

It takes a flexible mind to follow some conversations.
