I don't know how anybody can have a strong feeling about it either way. You're never going to be able prove or disprove anything.

Post some more information on this please. The only one I knew of related to the use of Ketamine, which was dismissed by the academic community.

Stuart Hameroff of the University of Arizona has theorized that the mind and brain actually function in very separate ways. His theory of 'Quantum Consciousness' is very interesting. For those who want to know more on the subject (http://www.quantumconsciousness.org/).

Also there actually is a peer-reviewed academic journal on the subject of Near Death Experiences (http://www.iands.org/pubs/jnds/, http://springerlink.metapress.com/content/105586/); it poses some serious questions for neuroscience and the study of consciousness. It therefor obviously has philosophical and religious implications.

That's just your opinion. That's not the way that I see things. I would also like to tell you to stop calling us ret*ds.

Who are You? Other people have died and the world has kept right on going. You might as well believe that the world popped INTO existence the moment you became.

You're rude and offending. To religious people. Like me.

God loves me and made me special and unique with AS! Duh!

who would I be without it..........?

BTW We have something called Freedom of Religion. I can believe what I want to believe.
In your defense, there is Freedom of Speech, so really you can say what you want too.

To play devil's advocate:

How do we know that if a "god" exists it would have to be a good god? Isn't it just as possible that if god exists he might be evil and created us solely for his sadistic pleasure?

Or what if there is an afterlife without any god?

I'm what you could call a Jewish agnostic. I believe in the cultural and historical aspects of Judaism, but seriously doubt the existence of god. Countless good people suffer in misery, while scum of the earth have happy-go-lucky lives. What kind of god would allow it, may I ask? And what for purpose? If it's to test people's faith, then I failed his stupid tests, because I lost my faith.

Those who say that it's the devil who makes people suffer, let me give a preemptive comeback: the devil does it, but god authorizes it. What's worse is for the individual to decide.

As for the afterlife, I'm not sure. Judaism doesn't have a clear view on it. But whatever it is, it can't possibly be any worse than life on earth.
