I doubt that legalization would lead to lots of public smoking. I think in terms of public intoxication, it should be held to the same standards as alcohol. Not everyone likes the smell of burning weed. But in any case if it were legal a large range of non-combustible methods would become available to the general public. Briefly, there was a 'Compassion Club' here in Montreal that sold marijuana to people, and during my sole visit there I saw:
THC lip balm (personal fav)
THC cola
THC cereal (looked like coco-puffs)
etc
So there are a lot of creative ways that one could safely ingest the substance for medical or recreational purposes
I doubt it too. Cigarettes are legal but smoking in public is getting banned everywhere you go. You mention the lilp balm, cola and cereal. REcently I bought an electronic cigarette kit that has those nicotine cartridges in them, and I've been wondering when someone was going to come up with a pot cartridge for those little vaporizers. While I dont' foresee criminal activity rising just because of legalization of marijuana, I DO foresee highways and streets full of pizza delivery drivers.
It's doubtful an e-cig cartridge would be developed any time soon but who knows.
There's THC everything...rice krispy treats, lolipops, cookies, and of course the classic butter.
