The pre-historic hunter-gatherers. Not that they were a culture/civilization, but you get my point.

for me Al-andalusia.

I also have a fondness for the pre 1975 Lebanon

the strange periods and places where jews muslims and christians
pretend to get along are fascinatng

my very Jewish grandmother loved 1920's Lebanon.
she when on a Levant trip in the 20's in loved Lebanon hated Palestine.
I guess love for Eretz Yisrael is not genitic.
the trip cured her of zionism.
but of course she was a communist for real not like Obama.

So beautiful. Typical life span -- 35 years.

And when the game was scarce they starved.

A short and painful life isn't the opposite of beauty.

Dunno, I only have experience of this one. If I was marking a paper, I'd probably give it 4 out of 10, with a 'see me' comment.

What is the most beautiful civilization created by mankind? - Perhaps Disneyland, California or Disneyworld, Florida - perhaps the happiest places on planet earth. Disneyworld, Florida is the most visited theme park in the entire world. What makes Disneyland/Disneyworld so different is that they are quite honest compared with most non-profit religions. Disney readily admits it builds imaginary lands and places for people to visit and have fun at.

Working at most 20 hours a week and probably living a life as sexually active and promiscuous as Bonobo chimpanzees? Sounds good

That's okay, 35 years of careless sex and hunting would probably feel better then 80 years of slaving in an office cubicle

Evidence seems to be the Sea Peoples were rather a mix. Some do want to include surplus Minoans, some want the Philistines [ > Palestine of course] to be Sea Peoples.

But there are a LOT of islands out there, and with Hellenes moving in and the odd natural disaster people are going to move.

The Etruscans also come from this area - Lemnos may not be the home land but the lingo is pretty clearly connected. AND there are questions about Cyprus.

The Egyptians provide very little documentation, except for the Minoans and Etruscans nobody left much writing - and at that it is pretty much accounts on the one side and epitaphs on the other.

You would think with all the literate Semites around, the Philistines would hav written us a bunch, but forget that.

Do NOT get me started. I am resisting.

Why don't you wax lyrical on the beauty of slums and nursing homes?

They are not lyrical material.
