Are you familiar with the term retcon? it was just an error no biggie we don't have to warp reality to make her right.

It's a small world. I noticed from the link that John Wayne Gacy worked for the Democratic Campaign during the Carter years and had his picture taken with Rosalynd Carter. Bachmann also worked for the Democratic Campaign during the Carter years, before she changed over to the Republican Party.

She likes John Wayne Gacy? That's bull, man.
Obviously, a presidential hopeful would never win the hearts of serial killers.

Turns out she was not pandering to the serial killer vote
but in her own words her comments "were just misspeaking"
I say good for her it is better it spend a minute admitting folly.
then years of defending misstatements.

I had a feeling she was a cheerleader in highschool, and while finding that information yesterday, I also found out she worked on the Carter campaign. I don't imagine they worked in the same locations but I am equally surprised to find out that either of these individuals worked for the Carter Campaign.

She's a different kind of social animal than Palin. Highschool basketball player vs. Cheerleader. Palin's got an aggressive instinct and Bachmann is still a cheerleader at heart, ruled by the spirit of the moment at times.

If nothing else, this proves our country is becoming a more of an egalitarian one. I would have never imagined a high school cheerleader having the opportunity to run for president, when I was young, male or female. Athletes often become politicians; Palin has that aggressive streak.

Just a pop culture thought. But, I wonder if the popularity of Palin, Bachmann, and Trump relate to the attention deficit of modern culture. None of this stuff would have been believable enough to be portrayed on a TV show when I was young.

Romney won't grab any attention, except for the fact that he looks/acts like a President/Funeral Director, but in just a week with the flake comment and John Wayne comment, many are going to know that Bachmann is running for President. And, the people that support her ideology are by in large the same people that supported Bush; they are not going to care if she misspeaks.

The strong quality I saw in Bush, was invincibility to criticism; dodging shoes and smiling to the end. I think Bachmann shares that quality, and it likely resonates higher among her constituents than the mistakes she makes. Palin has the Bush swagger, but she doesn't deal well with criticism. Neither does Obama.

Maybe Cheerleader, is among the new qualifications, that enhance the chances of a Presidential run.

If she wins the nomination, I'll think the same thing I did when Bush won it, wow, how did that happen, in the Republican Party?

I see a possibility of a Romney/Bachmann ticket. Keeping the charisma, backpacking the Tea Party radical ideas, and the ground breaking possibility of a female Vice President.

If Bachmann gets elected, there goes W's legacy of being America's dumbest president.

But, likely one of the most remembered; hopefully, not eventually remembered as the administration that originated the decline of the American way of life.

A woman of many talents. From her high school yearbook. She is the one on the right with the strong looking quadriceps; a well preserved woman. She hasn't changed much in nearly 40 years.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. She is 55, and wouldn't pass for a 15 year old. I'm sure that she could buy wine anywhere, without being asked to show her identification.

I agree; there's also evidence of the assistance of cosmetic technology on the part of Palin and Bachmann. If I didn't know any better I would guess Bachmann was in her mid to late 40's. She looks about the same age as Palin to me.

I was being a little sarcastic in that last post. I'll be an Obama supporter, if for no other reason than healthcare.

In my opinion Palin, Bachmann, and Paul's ideas are too radical for the Presidential nomination in the Republican party. But, Bachmann might get the vice presidential nod, with Romney, as an Olive Branch to the Tea Party.

A Romney/Bachmann ticket? Say bye bye to the notion of a President Romney.

That's what may have cost John McCain the Presidency in 2008.

Maybe America still isn't ready for a female VP and/or a Mormon President.

Bachmann is just the Republican version of Dennis Kucinich, IMOO.

I see this as a potential reality; the Republicans don't have any good choices at this point. But, they have internal divisions they must deal with and are probably going to come up with some kind of compromise to keep their own party together.

One of the most outstanding acceptances of G.W.Bush was that he really was a jolly fellow and great to join with in a beer. Was this what got him elected? Nothing about his viciously illegal and destructive policies, merely that he was a great drinking companion. If this is the way Americans choose their leaders, the emotional and perhaps sexual appeal of Palin and Bachmann may compare favorably against the rather elite and aristocratic personality of Obama. Of course that method of choosing leaders is the road to disaster but it seems to be that chosen pathway for the voters. And, as these last years have indicated, Obama is no bargain.
