I left the church years ago. I can't depend on other people to tell me right vs wrong, I have to be able to know that for myself. My parents are still Mormons along with two of my sisters. I know for a fact that the church is making an effort to get the Mormon vote out this year.

I married a member.

One clause was that I got baptised myself. A lot of what is taught doesnt sit well with my darwinist-pro-choice-pro gay marriage-left wing beliefs, but i perservere for the sake of domestic harmony.

Really, for me its the opposite. The fluffy nature of the concepts in the scriptures confuses my understanding of the world around me. My resistance to blind faith irritates even the most patient of missionaries.

This'd be awesome if it were true. Do you have a source?

...I just realized that probably sounded sarcastic. Wasn't meant that way.

Stop worrying so much. Let those who would take offense, take offense. That is their problem, not yours. What the world needs more of now, is a lot of insensitive a** holes who don't give a damn whose "feelings" they hurt. A real Man is devoid of sensitivity and prefers justice to kindness.

My mom who just watched general conference told me
yea, I cant find any official church position and I am not going to watch the conference to verify this, so I'll just admit I was wrong instead.
