If you are willing to turn a blind eye to the monstrosities your government does on your behalf, in a moral sense, you are responsible for it.

However, it's a matter of causality. The average person, even a large group of them, DO NOT have the power to mandate what government does on a daily basis. We could push for holding those who made the decisions accountable, but other than elections, we really can't do that much.

I said he's right with regard to the fact that our government is largely our own fault. We can blame our parents too, i guess.

Why is it wrong for a democratic republic (the U.S.) to support the only working democracy in the middle east? And please, no nonsense about how those pesky Jews stole the land from the Palestinians. Please recall that the United States is stolen land, every last acre.

I would expect that comment about Jews from a Gentile

Don't be bigoted.

I don't want to be that guy. But Jewish and Christian morality agree with it.

If you have the power over a government, that gives you responsibility. If you let a government do 'sins' then you would be sinning by omission.

So, the logic is all right.

The premises though may not be that right. Are Americans really able to control their government? Is the US government really guilty of the sins that Osama accuses it on? Etc, etc, etc. The logic though seems right to me.
