Silly religious healers, don't they know that you can only cure AS with an exorcism.

(spins head and spews green slime)

Bah, Jesus loves Aspies and Auties! Why else would he want us to come follow him with the mind of a child? Dude, we have a distinct advantage here!

Can Christianity even be called a religion anymore? I mean, come on. Faith healing? It's not even like they're trying to spread a religion. It looks more like they're marketing a product. "Try new improved Jesus for the spiritual boost you need, with only half the calories of other leading prophets! Now cures cancer!"

it is pretty ridiculous, I understand using ancient texts as a reference, but science creates our world, science has too many possibilities yet unexplored, why waste time with faith?

I'd rather believe conciousness is the result of the way the universe works, than believe that the universe was created by a conciousness.

:P

"I used to be an overweight black lesbian transexual. I was such a fool, because I didn't know that there was a problem with me! Why, I was even under the dellusion that I was happy! But, Jesus has helped me realize that how I existed was wrong. Now I can feel like crap all the time, but I know that this is the right thing. Thanks Jesus, you're a real pal!"

I wish Christainity would stop trying to fix things that aren't broken. I'd love to see how a fundementalist tries to program.

"LESS THAN OPERATORS ARE THE DEVIL!"
"NO! I wrote this right. The compiler is obviously lying. Stop lying compiler, and WORK"

Exhibit A as to why, from a religious perspective, AS must be "cured".

God made us special for a reason. We have no disease to "cure", unless communicating differently is a disease. Please, don't condemn all of Christianity just because of charlitans, though. This is all stuff that is Christianity AND. Mere Christianity, as C.S. Lewis coined it, is nothing like church, following only the Bible.

Hence my use of inverted commas.

Though when its said as "god made us special for a reason" I think of this little man in the sky tinkering with people then pumping them into genitalia, the force behind life, is universal, I can't possibly believe a concious mind chooses such things, the process of evolution, the expansion of the universe, the way matter and energy work, these things are divinity to me. I believe conciousness is the result of this..

No offence intended at all, I am definately open to christianity, however I'd like you to see that the word god itself can mean many different things, to many different people, and giving it a personality, is in itself the same to me as me calling christianity obsolete.

Did that make sense?

You just made my day.

That said, honestly it's really hard for me to see why people get taken in by this in the first place. Is it willful ignorance or are they just stupid? I may not be religious, but my parents are (Roman Catholic at that--and they still make me go to church) and so is most of the rest of my extended family and friends, and I can't imagine any of them being taken in by this bull. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Scintillate, all we think with and about is limited to what God gives us to think with and about. God is beyond our comprehension (by so much we cannot even begin to imagine). To think we understand Him is to achieve an arrogance so great it has achieved the status of the greatest sin of all: pride.

I'm sure that probably comes off as willful ignorance of some sort. What it really comes from is humility, for I'd rather know I know nothing than to delude myself into thinking I know everything or, really, anything at all.

Arrogance and pride are things "god" wants a monopoly on. Apparently, he hates the competition.
