Not so. The Tea Party was a libertarian hiccup that was hijacked by the right wing of the Republican party. It was a last gasp to restore the controls of the Constitution to our government. It failed.

It turns out that since the time of the New Deal, Congress can do anything it please to do, in order to "regulate interstate commerce" which equates to regulating our lives in minute detail. The Courts have failed to protect us from Congress.
