Yeah, I certainly bet most of them would boo the golden rule.
You want to put religion in public places, don't be surprised when I light it all on fire.
Wanna shove it down my throat, go start your own country. Organised religion has no place in public places, ESPECIALLY a school. After all, educations worst enemy is religion.

Teachers leading school prayer is one thing you might have a case against. But opposing people praying of their own volition in public would violate the free exercise clause. Religion ought to be welcome in public, even in government. In the USA it is endorsement where things go twisty.

If someone wants to pray that's their own gig. I'm talking billboard, banners, mandatory school prayers, reference to religion in oaths (like in court. I refuse to swear on the bible, the bible hold no meaning to me), that sort of thing. It has no place being there.

Billboards and banners are perfectly legal so long as they are on non-government land (some relgious symbols however can be considered to not be an endorsement however). People are free to speak and advocate their views. Mandatory school prayer is also not a problem in a private school. Oaths with a religious message are mostly just secular traditions, in Australia an atheist can swear on a copy of the constitution if they like. You seem to have a bee in your bonnet when it comes to religion, one that does not seem to mesh very well with a concept of freedom of religion. I could be wrong, but your rhetoric does lend itself to an extreme interpretation.

I have quite a large bee in my bonnet when it comes to religion. I advocate freedom of religion where no one else has to see or hear it, and I disagree with allowing any of it to be in an area that the public can see. Religion advocates hate and pain, nothing more.

If you want to have freedom of religion where you are free to not practice a religion then you have a friend in me. If however, your definition of freedom, is 'never seen and never heard' then you have a stern opponent in me and in just about any Free Exercise Clause. Freedom isn't easy, that is the whole point of this thread. It actually means that you will be confronted by opinions and people you do not agree with.
You want to say you live in the land of the free, then be prepared to see someone burn your holy book, your flag and say you're going to hell for 'x' 'y' and 'z'. I have to put up with crazy street preachers telling me I am going to hell, so do you. Once you can tolerate that, then you really have something to celebrate. Life is much easier when you work out that the crazies are actually just mine canaries for your freedom. When they stop chirping, then the political oxygen is running out and you're in trouble.

Of course they don't. The thing is, zealotry begats zealotry...
Every time there's a dispute like this between zealot Christians and zealot atheists they need to settle it by giving everyone involved a clawhammer, locking them all in a steel cage, and throwing away the key.

Her whole case is about greedy self-satisfaction. She admitted to being an activist which tells me she was looking for something, anything, to make a case out of. That school would be better off without her; she’s a disruption.
Gadflies serve a useful purpose. They goad the complacent. Socrates in -Apology- pointed out the need for gadflies and trouble-makers. We need folks to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Besides, she happened to be -right- on this issue. Pushing religion has no place in a public tax loot funded school. If one wants religion in school there are always privately funded, privately operated schools that can do that.

Christian zealotry = death threats
Atheist "zealotry" = not wanting explicitly religious displays in public schools
F*ck, you're anti-atheist bigotry really is starting to show.
Establishment Clause people, keep your religion out of my schools. If the kids are making actual death threats to the young lady, by all means she needs to press charges and they need to be prosecuted.
Before someone spouts the tired old "Freedom of Religion does not mean Freedom from Religion" argument, let me just say that the Government must remain completely neutral and not condone religion in any way. In other words, Freedom from Religion.

Do you also support people making racist or homophobic rants on the streets? Or anti-Semitic?
