The Illuminati doesn't stand a chance against the White Dragon Society. Any action you see the Illuminati take is a act of desperation. The game is already lost for them.
The only hope they have is that seppuku won't be too painful!

The ultimate defeat of the Illuminati has been in the books for sometime. As a mocking jester, the WDS paid a man named Steve Jackson to come up with a game that would end up telling the story that is indicative of the collapse of the Illuminati.
Illuminati Card game
The WDS guided Jackson how to depict the cards as the story is told, because they have seen how it will play out. It can be seen in this example:
We all know what this signifies, but it turned out to be a futile attempt for the Illuminati to win the hearts over of it's citizens. But their citizens are too smart not to see behind the underlying insatiable greed that motivates their efforts. An event that will ultimately mark the desperation of one side.
Then we have this:
Oil in the face of a black president with a BPesque background? Not just coincidence. The WDS has been poised against the oil industry for some time. Their efforts were instrumental in Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The retailiation against this sabotage was futile, but it demonstrates what the Illuminati are poised against: Nuclear power.
The Illuminati must have had a hard time getting over themselves for their idea. Detonating a nuclear bomb in the ocean, off of the Fukushima prefecture, causing the Japanese tsunami? Good, but not good enough. The WDS knows that the Illuminati isn't crazy enough to cause nuclear meltdowns at every plant, because they can't live in an irradiated world, and their hyperspace dimensional vehicles aren't equipped to sustain people more than 30 relative days.
Oil will some day vanish as a commodity, and the Illuminati knows it. They are desperately trying to position their selves for the coming global war over the rest of the resources and riches Earth provides us. But in the process, they've managed to bankrupt themselves, and accelerate the depletion of resources they will wish they had rationed more thoughtfully.
They will have no choice but to bow down to the WDS and it's subsidiaries. In time, most of western civilization will be a symbol of avarice. Its people will fall, head first, hard into the ground as their wealth disappears, and they are subjected to living the life of a slave, which they are currently being conditioned for. They will be tantamount to a bunch of iron-mining, milk-drinking orcs. But the people they see in power will be hardly any better off, coming out of the shadows and being the new face to blame world problems on, while the real power sits in the shadow, unseen and unburdened.
