To my understanding, the Hebrews were originally the mercenaries that guarded Egypt's northern borders. The Egyptians became paranoid that they might threaten Egypt's political hegemony, so the Egyptian government set them to work to keep them out of trouble. The Hebrews pretty much said, "well, screw you," and they ran off to found their own little empire. Good for them.
That, and there had been a change in ruling dynasties in Egypt. The Pharaohs who had welcomed the Hebrews and other Canaanites into Egypt had been replaced with leaders who didn't have such a cozy feeling for them.

Indeed I wish human beings would have kept records of the ancient times for the future peopel on the planet to study so we could know about their lives. And what really happened in those times if we had such records it would make a very interesting field of study.
I think there had been many more records from that day which sadly never survived into modern times.

Actually Lower Egypt (the Delta) had been seized in the chariot blitzkrieg by Hysksos (the Shepard Kings)- the semetic speaking nomads from the arabian desert.
The Hyksos ruled lower Egypt for a couple centuries. The Hebrews were probably fellow semitic speaking camp followers of the Hyksos. Joseph, the dream interpreter, was probably part of the Entourage of these foreign rulers of lower Egypt.
But then the native Egyptian elite got its act together and attacked from upper Egypt and reconquered lower Egypt- hense the new pharoah coming to power "who did not know Joseph". The new dynasty of native Egyptian pharoahs took away the grazing land (the land of Goshen) given to the Hebrews by the Hyksos rulers, and finnally demoted the Hebrews to slaves. But this all happened around 1300 BC so it was over a thousand years after the last of the Pyramids were built. But Egypt was still into monumental archetecture.
Maybe something like a slave uprising occured and the Hebrews migrated east to Canaan and then conquered Canaan. But the details in the bible are probably exagerrated. The bible says there were 600 thousand men of military age who joined in the Exodus ( implying an entire population of two million). The whole population of Egypt at the time was barely two million.

I think there is little evidence to support the idea Jews were slaves in Egypt. Though then again, most of our knowledge of ancient history is based on scanty evidence.
Jews where in fact enslaved in Egpyt where they were viewed as subhuman.
There is no archeological evidence for that.

The Ancient Aliens Theory and the Jews Built the Pyramids Theory are both correct. Jews are in fact known to be Reptilian shape shifters from the Small Magellanic Cloud. They were imported as slave labor by the Egyptian Star Union during the zenith of its power
Right.
