Art is forever. Create great works of art and generations to come will enjoy it.
You are taking a very limited view of art.
Some visual art is deliberately created in temporary media, with the deliberate intention that it shall be destroyed or it shall decay never again to be seen.
Art is created every night in the theatre and the concert hall--and that art exists only in the moment that it is created, after which it gone forever, except in the memories of those who witnessed it. And then it gets created anew the next night.
Only the tiniest fraction of the art that humans have created is available for us to see today--and only a tiny fraction of what we create today will be available to future generations.
