As for the thread title, neither. I am closer to a Socialist, if anything.

As for the question in your post I am left leaning. Certainly my experience is that most ASD people, going from other forums like aspies for freedom are progressive leaning. I think most minority groups tend to gravitate towards the left. Our material conditioning and day to day experiences play a significant part.

Categorizing people by their political view is not a good idea. You should look past politics instead and ask for opinons on particular topics demanding thinking on ones own instead of following other groups.

Depends on whether or not they think they're entitled to laser surgery at the expense of others.

I despise libertarianism and extreme individualism, and most Autists I have met online appear (to me) to be libertarians.

I am a far-left socialist. Some socialists are libertarians or anarchists (libertarian socialism or anarcho-socialism). Others are collectivists. I am in the second category.

Examples of libertarian socialism are The Zeitgeist Movement, the Venus Project, and Sacred Economics.

How do you figure? Most right-wing Aspies I've seen are libertarian but in total I've seen that the majority of us are either centre-left or far-left. The left side of the spectrum seems to have the most appeal to us. Hell I even used to be borderline socialist.

The constant focus on individual liberty and the sovereign individual. Recently, there were four threads, all active at the same time, on liberty or libertarianism.

There are are libertarian socialists that are materialist , rationalist and don't require conspiracy thinking.

That is true. However, The Zeitgeist Movement of Peter Joseph has distanced itself from the original astrotheological Zeitgeist movie. Joseph himself says that he no longer supports the so-called 9/11 "truth" movement.

The Venus Project and Sacred Economics have never been associated with conspiratorial thinking. At one time, the Zeitgeist Movement became the activist arm of the Venus Project. However, personality conflicts led to a separation.

I identify far more with the left than the right on the majority of issues, especially social ones. In fact I regard right-wing ideology as downright evil. It is essentially the ideology of domination. They may claim to oppose big government, but they only oppose the functions of government that make society more equitable, and they often worship institutions every bit as authoritarian as any government ("deregulated" capitalism for instance). There are no right-wing libertarians as far as I'm concerned.

Right wing libertarians would be the classic free market libertarians.

Gary Johnson would be as close to a right wing libertarian as is available in US national politics today.

You miss the point. The question is absurd.

I consider myself to be a Lovecraft conservative. 8)

I can't say that I'm either a liberal or a conservative entirely in the amurcan sense. I am very much an elitist though. I believe that most ordinary people are stupid, vulgar and savage and need to be controlled in order to preserve civilization. I particularly despise populist conservatives(those macho rednecks and hillbillies)who champion "limited government" and are violently opposed to minority rights. Another thing that I hate about american conservatives is their reverence for dogs and disdain for Cats. But given that dogs are social animals, this kind of plebeian stupidity is something I should expect.

the same variance of opinion as anyone I think

left-right is meaningless anyways

What I want most of all is to ensure that the masses(rednecks, hillbillies, trailer trash, ghetto thugs) are kept under control and that the government will use force to keep them in their place.
