Hey J Greens, before your post was removed I tried to respond to it. Apparantly I did just as it was being removed. But how the hell do you expect them to hunt deer without guns? I live out in the woods. Hunting is a big thing here. People don't get shot. Sane people don't kill other sane people. End of story.

When my kids were small you could still see rifles in the gun racks of the high schoolers trucks. Many went hunting in season after school. No one got shot at school.
What about the knife attack in China? Are you going to try to ban knives?
What I wonder is why there is more of this??What is the cause?
Guns were even more accessible when I was little,I do not remember any school attacks.

You can see that here too. Some boys, in hunting season, come to school in their cammies after going hunting early in the morning. Loaded shotguns are in the gunrack. They aren't in the school, they are in the truck where they belong. No deer in the school.

J-Green. Your post was removed due to it's complete lack of sensitivity. Does this really need to be turned into a political debate while those kids blood still lies on the floors of the school? Now? Give people time to get over the shock please.

It seems I cannot have an honest and open debate on this issue as it has already been decided from above. I would like to continue this debate, but clearly I am not allowed.

This is definitely the Facebook profile of the shooter, Ryan Lanza. Check out his location. It's Newtown, Connecticut, right where Sandy Hook Elementary is located.

Start one in PPR, I'll chime in, gladly.

For real though dude, in a society where the power to kill is all around you, you tread lightly. If they had had carry permits, and one of those women they talked to on the CNN interview, where 3 went into the hall after hearing shots and one came back, had had a gun and been a decent shot, it might have been stopped there.

I know one thing, if I had been there and heavy, I would have drawn my weapon and been prepared to use it and probably took him out. Maybe that would have made me a murderer, maybe that would have made me a hero, that doesn't matter. THAT is what guns are for, not what he used them for. Any sane person with a gun will tell you that.

Let's outlaw insanity instead. That's what causes people to get killed.

So how long before the media paints the gunman as a quiet loner with AS traits?

I don't think access and ownership to firearms, per se are the causes. There are plenty of countries in which individuals have relatively easy access to firearms, but nowhere near the level of violent crime (e.g. Canada). There are countries in which access is heavily restricted, but firearms violence is endemic (e.g. South Africa).

But it seems to me that it is a supremely lazy public policy response to do nothing more that point out that regulation of sale, acquisition and possession of firearms does not ipso facto lead to a reduction in firearms violence.

This is where I lose faith with Second Amendment cheerleaders. It is not enough to proclaim that regulation is not the answer. There is an epidemic of firearms violence, and even if regulation will not stem that epidemic, neither will proliferation. It is incumbent upon all citizens to make a critical assessment of the origins of that violence, and to propose approaches that will have a meaningful impact on those causes.

I keep thinking they were just babies. Babies. People just lost their babies. Baby girls and baby boys just lost their lives.

Why does anyone want to kill baby kids? BABIES
