And most of thier official platforms aren't actually built around creating an actual egalitarian society (like the feminist movement tends to be.) Rather it's reactionary in attempting to roll back the progress of the feminist movement and push for more "traditional" gender roles.

If MRAs really wanted equality they would be pushing for more stay at home dads, male nurses, etc and push for the acceptance of men in other traditionally female roles (as most feminists platforms tend to do.) This would help solve any percieved inequalities that men have compared to women.

Supposedly, a large majority of the millennial feminists are embracing domesticity as a political statement anyway. They're eschewing consumerism by staying home, growing vegetable gardens, and blogging about it.

Well if by 'sell' you mean get some notoriety. But she wasn't able to make anything out of it and died in obscurity.

Of course not. I like a lot of men; the colleagues with whom I am closest are men, and I have a brother, dojo mates, and two fathers whom I all love. However, there are a lot of very vocal men (especially in religion and politics) who make a point of trying to limit what I can do with my body, my career, and my love life. The latter ones are the ones I'm bashing, not all men in general. I guess I should specify that more often.

SCUM is just a mirror reflection of historical antipathy toward women. I think the early Christian Church had debates on whether women could even get into heaven, and if so were they "rewarded" with male bodies if they were truly good. I think even some modern religions, like the Skyclad sect of Jains believe something similar.

Saying these types represent mainstream feminism is like saying the Westoboro Baptist church represents mainstream religious conservatism. It's a strawman argument and a distraction from real discussions.
