Jesus is supported financially by a troubled woman.

Gump is supported emotionally by a troubled woman.

Prove to me that Jesus wasn't a woman. Or a hermaphrodite alien.

Circumcised on Jan 1

Also described as a male in every ancient text that mentions him.

It is a fact that every ancient text describes Jesus as male. None of them are proof of Jesus' sex or existence.

Not that I'm suggesting that Jesus was a woman.

Never thought of that.

At the end of the story a formerly troubled woman visits the grave of Jesus.

At the end of the story Gump visits the grave of a formerly troubled woman.

Might be a resurrection theme on both as well. Jesus escapes to heaven, ultimately foiling his abusers. Gump ends with a feather ascending to the sky. Possibly symbolizing Jenny's wish to "fly away" from her abusive father. But that's not a direct Gump to Jesus link.

Both were known for making aphorisms.

Well- one of them was known for making ONE aphorism- "life is like a box of chocolates..". The other for making many.
