Indiana is one of the few states that currently prohibits the sale of alcohol at the State fair. A new proposed Bill would change that long standing rationality in the near future.

Yes we all know it is not possible to have fun and enjoy ourselves without getting shitfaced drunk. And what says Family Values better than allowing sales of alcohol at a venue which is basically planned around activities centered on young people.

Hey, this is a Conservative state so who cares about Family Values when there is money to be made, eh. Do we anticipate that the religion of Family Values will be making an objection to this proposal? My bet is that the Church of Family Values will be first in line to have licensed beer sales are established at the state fair.

Anyone who doesn't have a flag tattooed on their penis have a problem with this proposal?

First off, it is a proposed bill which means it hasn't even got to the point where it's voted on.
I've been at several public events (car shows, air shows, etc) that had beer booths. Very rarely have I seen anyone shitfaced and the very few that were would have been, anyway. One or two or even three beers doesnt come close to making a beer drinker shitfaced.

This is Indiana, a red state I was born and raised here. People will burn the mansion down if the proposal fails. They would boycott the fair. That's why they are Conservatives. I have watched their insanity for 50 years. Alcohol is too big here.

Why all the sudden would they burn down the mansion or boycott the fair? Surely the Indiana state fair is nothing new and if they're just now proposing selling beer I don't see it being such a big deal either way for the conservatives or anyone else. Hey, you could always move over to Illinois where everything is illegal.
BTW, you forgot to call me a facist and/or a troll this time.
Don't let it slip again! :shameonyou:

A state fair is not a sporting event.

True, but my first thought when this thread first began was related to the concerts, tractor pulls, motorcycle races, demolition derbies and such in the grandstands where at least some folks would think beer should be part of the action. However, it sounds like the proposal would not facilitate that unless people are willing to spend their time walking back and forth out to the beer garden.

The Missouri state fair has beer. I have never seen stumbling drunks or trouble as a result.
Heck, even the church carnivals where I live serve beer.

The state fair held here in Spokane Valley, as well as other fairs here in Washington state generally serve beer just in the Beergarten. I don't recall beer being served anywhere else in fairs here, or that people could just walk around with beer in hand outside of the Beergarten. Is this the plan for Indiana? Or is the plan for fair goers to be able to get beer anywhere at the fair, and to be able to walk around drinking freely?

The bill to allow beer to be sold at the Indiana State Fair is supposedly being proposed by a conservative + khaoz HATES conservatives = khaoz hates the bill that, if passed, would allow beer to be sold at the Indiana State Fair.

Had it been proposed by liberals, who themselves are never far from the nearest beer booth, we wouldn't be hearing about it.

No Pabst Blue Ribbon? I'm a bit surprised, because it's the beer of both blue collars (both union and non-union) and the art house crowd. I'd expect it to be the drink of bipartisanship.
