Well?...Something interesting happened today and I was enlightened...I managed to run into a feminist at the local starbucks strangly she was friendly and I asked her "If feminists are always angry?" She laughed and said "of course not and explained why they get angry during protests and such so they can be heard and are outraged about being oppressed in a patriarchal society its not men at all, well maybe some men the ones that are treating us unequally" we had a nice long conversation about an hour and 47 mins long and was able to answer my questions and it changed my perception of things. She did not identify herself as a radical feminist but a sex possitive feminist and that she herself argues with other feminists that dissagree with her views and says this is common between different sectors of the feminist movement but all strive for one goal equality and women's rights. She kept trying to convert me throughout the conversation I responded with a maybe she said don't feel discouraged or embarressed or afraid your not allowed just because your a guy we need all the help we can get! dont be ashamed of yourself that your a man or your sexuality you can always be a sex possitive feminist too you'd make a great one. I told her ill think about it . Im just glad I was able to get all my questions answered and now am at peace. And maybe just maybe I could be a feminist. Oh my what am I saying?! *disappears ninja style with a smoke bomb*

I second this. It's actually rather appalling how much women have been oppressed throughout history, and while I may not necessarily agree with the "angrier" side of feminism, I understand why it exists, and I can sort of identify with it given my status as an aspie and the difficulties I face with NTs.
Going further on that note, I support feminism to a degree, but mainly in situations where women are being oppressed. In situations where women start having more power than men, and start oppressing them, that's when I have a problem with it. Men and women, in my opinion, should be regarded as equals, with neither being greater or worse than the other.
Your mad, counterproductive, antisocial skills!

The question is: is right to be angry because a person belonging to the same social group than another current person did to another person of the same social group than you time ago?
And this is not about feminism but about some other groups too. Have a modern woman the moral right to be angry with a modern man because some other woman was oppressed one century ago? Have a modern black guy the moral right to be angry with a modern white guy because there were slaves two centuries ago? Have a modern jew the moral right to be angry with a modern german that was not even born when WW2 happened?
I thought I read in another thread that you intended to calm the f**k down and stop baiting women?

Hallelujah! Does this mean an end to all these feminist threads?

The problem is: did you make the right specific questions?.
If you talk about vague and generalized stuff, it sounds fine. If you stay in the nebulous world of purposes and intentions, there's nothing wrong with it. The problem appears when you leave the world of vague statements and go into specific issues.
For example: do you want men and women to be equal? Of course. Now focus in some specific issue: if a woman is free to reject motherhood (in a nutshell, to abort), should a man be equally free to reject parenthood? (so the mother, if she wants to go ahead with pregnancy, she's the only one with rights and responsabilities over the kid). Feminist answer: NOOOO!
For example: do men and women should have equal right to work? Of course. Now focus in some specific issue: if men's unemployment is higher than women's, should the gouvernment be allowed to spend some money to incentivate male employment. Feminist answer: NOOOO! (And this a real fact: Obama was pressed by feminist organizations to take such plan down. And indeed, he did).
And the list goes on and on.
Check this critical piece, quite recent: http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/anne-theri ... 49999.html. It's an almost 2000-words text, quite a long one. Now look for one single specific issue covered or included in the critic, as the ones I tod before. Do you want to make a feminist angry? It's easy: just tell him/her "please, don't make general statements. Just be specific". This is the magic word.

Your posts in this thread (and the other recent thread about feminism) seem to back up what the article is saying - that some men would rather keep complaining forever on and on about feminism rather than address the real and genuine issues that men shuld be fighting for. Your posts are rather hypocritical.
Not every article has to be a study with numbers and studies and statistics. Sometimes just getting a different perspective is helpful.
There is Feminism, and there is Feminism, of course one is correct and Women shouldn't be oppressed, should have equal rights and be respected.
The other sort though, the Feminists who want to be men and consider the sexes exactly the same, I think they get angry more in frustration at their failure to be men or keep up with men in the men's world that they sometimes try to inhabit.
I have a friend like this and she actually reinforces men's views about Women more than traditional Women do as she will often break down in tears at her failure to be the man she is not equipped to be.
What does "want to be men" even mean? Are there feminists out there who are angry because they have no penis?
You've got your terminology confused, sweetie. It's transgendered female-born people who want to be men.
