Social Desirability Bias and Non-White America

America is divided up by class, race and culture, then possibly language. I find it hard to believe you would deny this, so I take your questions as rhetorical.
So again I ask, which culture is the "American" one?
It depends on where you live in the USA, because of class, racial, ethnic, language segregation.
Dearborn, Michigan is a Muslim enclave, so around there the culture is Muslim-orientated. My Asian friend stays in Virginia, because they have an Asian enclave.

"White flight"/"Black flight" / Ethnic enclaves / Racial crime / Racial Discrimination / Language discrimination are all part of America.
So is that the culture you so deperately want to preserve?
I am not trying to preserve any culture. I am just telling you from a sociological perspective what happens.
You seem to be dismissive of the idea of culture. Black websites express lament over black people not growing up in a "black culture", and forced integration into "white culture".
You appear to be dismissive of these people - "bah .. no such thing as 'black culture'".

Don't worry, in another few generations, all hispanics will be considered white, and then they will join you in the fight to preserve white culture from the invading (fill in the blank) wave of immigrants.
I am not worried. I am merely pointing out what happens in America. It is poor form to apply false motivations about why I research things. If I write about mathematics it is not because I am worried about mathematics.
You appear to be in denial of "white flight" "black fight" and the formation of ethnic enclaves.
Eric Holder, the present US attorney general said "America is a nation of cowards", because we don't want to talk about the segregation and racism.

This is a large part of my point. There is no definitive "American culture" that needs to be preserved.

And I am just saying that these little enclaves are temporary and merge over time.

I am dismissive of the idea that any culture can remain frozen in time if only we would try more to preserve it.

I do think the idea of "black culture" is just as silly as the idea of "white culture." Who gets to define what black culture is? Oprah? Tyler Perry? Beyonce? Maya Angelou? Obama? They all have some very different ideas of what it means to be black. It gets even murkier when you start to examine geographic region variations and even variations from different sections of even the same city and the per capita population compared to other demographics.

You seem to be buying into overly simplistic simplifications of things. These little ethnic enclaves exist only temporarily. It is only a matter of a few generations before these enclaves are anything but. The white flight and black flight garbage has been exagerrated by an awful lot of people (from many different sides) by cherry picking out specific examples and ignoring any data that does not fit their pre-conceived notions. This mat have happened more back in the 60s and 70s, but even then it was more often a matter of the haves not wanting to be around the have-nots than it was about race.
Racism is still a problem in this country, but segregation is a bigger one. And segregation is not just about race. How many apartment buildings are going to let you move in without a credit check these days? And they have different cut-offs for the minimum depending on the "class" of people they want. How about quality education? There are fewer and fewer public school systems that can compete with private schools, where cash is king. How about college? The name and price tag of the college you got your degree from mean a whole lot more than your GPA or whether you finished a 4 year degree in 3 years. If you want to look at cultural divides, you should start checking out the socio-economic ones, not the racial ones; especially as this newer generation grows up in an environment where the "racial majority" is not so clear cut.
