Oh, you were worried about violence against Muslims? There is much more anti-Semetic violence in the US (although that could just be because there are more Jews).

Muslims face a lot more open prejudice than Jews in the United States, people can pretty much publicly call for their persecution whereas you might not ever work again in the country if you said the same about the Jews. I would say that the US as a whole is much much less anti-Semitic than Europe. Jews are very proactive when it comes confronting discrimination and I would imagine that is probably the biggest reason why they rank so high in these observations. I think Muslims just deal with more and there isn't really sympathetic shoulder to cry on so probably a lot don't bother reporting relatively minor things. Americans in general " have an overwhelmingly favorable view of Jews, large amount of Americans actually believe we have to proactively protect the Jewish people and the state of Israel for when Jesus comes back. Seriously. One thing tho, I think a good portion of violent incidents towards Jewish people in this country are actually from Muslims or whatever random people upset about Israeli/Arab conflict. This typically happens on college campuses, I imagine it might be similar in other countries.

I was raised Muslim, and now live in a single parent home with my mom. I'm 16. I've wanted to convert to Judaism for a while, and have finally decided to start the process. Problem is, I've tried converting before but my mom got furious and I went back to Islam. I have tried converting again but I'm keeping it a secret.... how do I practice the faith of my own in peace?

Holy s**t!! !!

I'm a practicing Muslim and 17 but I'm wondering why are you leaving Islam? Have you studied both religions? I think to be Jewish you have to have Jewish blood/roots from your mother's side, Judaism depends on your bloodline mainly or something.

A non-Jew(ie gentile/goyim) can convert. It is not that common but it certainly does happen.

Yeah it's hard to convert to Judaism from what I heard.

Why do you want to convert?

Is there a problem with your Muslim community, or is it more of a personal thing?

If you have any fears or doubts, anything you want answered, just let me know. No one's going to force you to stay if you truly don't believe, but I'll be sad to see you go.

Remember Picket Fences from the 1990s? The little boy wanted to convert to Judaism. His father, sheriff Brock asked him, "What is it in Judaism that you can't find in Christianity?" The boy replied, "Kindness to animals."
