If solar energy were utilized more, it would pay for itself by saving money. It's just there's factions against it and they spread misinformation about how it takes a lot of energy to create a solar panels but you see, the idea is not to completely obliterate coal, it's to cut down on it's usage through the hybridization with wind and solar so less is used. All of them work together.
What the coal industry wants is for every power plant on earth to be fueled with coal alone and it's obvious why they want this. It's because they make billions and billions of dollars if they are the sole provider of fuel. But is it the best option? That's not always so clear!
