The comment section was even worse, the internet really brings out the worst sometimes. The entire argument is a convenient vessel for hatred, by speaking on behalf of the fetus, opponents give themselves a license to judge, mock, threaten, and harm others. It's ironic that anti-abortion advocates don't live under the same fear as places like planned parenthood.

That's right, abortion is a difficult subject.

But I do not like to physicians decide who deserves to live and who is not.
Has anyone ever heard of a certain German sentences "Lebensunwertes Leben Life unworthy of life.
You might as well consider all of us as unworthy of life.

What a sad tragic situation. I guess it's dangerous to have an abortion when you have twins and one of them is defective.

But I still think it's the woman's choice. At least there would be less unwanted kids in the word and less child abuse and neglect. I have heard how overcrowded orphanages are and the staff are short staffed and they just can't take care of all those babies and young children so they get neglected and die and they also end up with a lot of problems such as RAD and our foster care system is over crowded too. Why even put a child through that? Also the fact that some people abuse their children just because they were unwanted because they couldn't be bothered to get rid of them for adoption or let their family members have them so an abortion would have been better than having a kid be punished for being born so they have to pay the price for it. You can't really force someone to have a baby. This is a good reason to support abortion.

It wasn't the physician who decided, it was the mother. The physician is the one who made the mistake and he should be held accountable.

A lot of people are incapable or unwilling to take proper care of even a "normal" child, nevertheless one with a severe illness. Unavoidably, the kids are the ones who will suffer the most. Unless you're willing to care for them yourself, it's really not your business.

The only way I'd get pregnant is if I got raped.

If I got pregnant from being raped, I'd get an abortion. Anyone who got in my way would be missing their teeth.

That's my "position."

I can understand the abortioan after rape or posses threat to life of mother , but i cannot understand removing the pregnancy only because baby is not fit their Aryan super health stereotype.

No need to bring Godwin's law into this. If the baby even survived birth there's an extremely strong chance it would have had a short and miserable life filled with pain. It's not a question of wanting a perfect blue-eyed baby.

My mother had an abortion before she had me.

It was a mistake, and she didn't want to have another child by her worthless, abusive, first husband.

I support her decision. Make of that what you will.

Something else removing the pregnancy conceived as a result of rape, I can understand even though my religion is against it, and another thing is eugenic abortion.

I (grudgingly) support the freedom of choice. I cannot be in every woman's shoes to know what she is going through, therefore it is not my right to use the force of law to make decisions for her. I cannot be there to support every woman as she raises the child I demanded she keep, therefore I cannot make those demands.

But along with the freedom to choose comes the responsibility to accept the consequences.

Selective abortion is a messy business. Even when it goes right, there is a pretty significant chance of losing the other fetus(es) too. I'm sure she knew that, whether she chose to listen or not.

While I must politically support her decision, I have deep-seated personal problems with it, and the nasty little moralist in me thinks she got just about what she had coming to her.

I only agree with early term abortions in rape or unwanted pregnancies, but I agree with abortion even later in cases of incest or when the mother's life is in danger.... call it what you might, abortion is killing a fetus, plain and simple....

No man should have any role in a woman's reproductive choices other than as her inseminator.

As a man, my only reproductive role is that of inseminator. I can choose only to inseminate or not to inseminate.

A woman's reproductive role is that of incubator. She can choose to deliver the fetus at full term or not, and it is solely her choice to make.

Of course, this assumes that the woman is legally and medically capable of making such a choice. If not, then the choice must be made for her by people who are both legally and medically empowered to do so.

So guys ... BACK OFF!

Hmm should I dive right in once more...

Nah not so soon again. If anyone wants to pick up something I said in the other thread I will respond though. The topic always boils down to the same thing, whether the aborted is a human or not. It was left unresolved last time, it will likely remain so this time.

It's not just that, although it is true - even amnio can trigger (rarely) a miscarriage. I'm sure she made an informed choice. But the other information she had to consider is if one twin fails (say, from a congenital heart defect), the chances are exceedingly high that both she and the other fetus will die if the failed one remains in the uterus and becomes toxic. And if the one with the bad heart fails just before or during birth, again, all of them could end up dead.

Anybody who judges a woman for having an abortion is devoid of empathy.

I may be a man, but somehow I seriously doubt that going for one is a decision that any woman takes lightly. The argument that abortion is a matter of mere convenience is flatly one of the most idiotic arguments I have ever heard in my life.

It only seems unresolved to you. The rest of us rational humans understand that it's a medical procedure that will remain legally available to women in rational countries as long as they are the ones that have to carry the fetus in their body, and that you will continue to have no say in that.
