I'm pretty sure that at some point San Juan Hill would be brought up, just because it can be and to bring more people into the offended group.

But what if .not being an as*hole and something I say reminds somebody of something else that is of the as*hole statement variety?
Like the kids who were accused of racism because they put an acne mask on and it looked funny so they posted a pic and were forced to apologize because biore charcoal facial mask is black and it simply REMINDED somebody of blackface?
What if somebody takes something the complete wrong way? You aren't supposed to ask people of other ethnicities where they are from. That's stupid. If you say "You ain't from around here now are ya boy?" That's one thing but asking where you're from when you meet somebody is part of getting to know each other and small talk. And it's another example of not being am as*hole bit just making somebody with a wall full of participation trophies think of something else of the as*hole persuasion which may or may not be similar?
I'm asking a serious question, and would like to read your answer.
I'm not saying people aren't as*holes, sure they are. The world is full of douchebags. But every douchebag isn't BEING a douchebag 24 hours a day. What about when he's not and he's accused of it anyway because it just made Brittany think of something she read?
If you think you weren't in the wrong, then defend yourself. You know you don't have to take anything anyone says seriously?
But in the larger scheme of things, language can and should be used as a weapon. Conservatives do it all the time, now they are getting a taste of it themselves.

I believe in free speech, **** your feelings.
Government forcing political correctness, could be construed as totalitarian for sure. However 'political correctness' isn't an ideology, its a term that means avoiding offensive language...in my opinion its not very evil in itself. Also just as much as one can make a point to be offensive or unpleasant to express free speech, people can also make a point to be more civil when interacting with people and still be expressing free speech. The choice of course is up to the individual...granted the former might come with some less great consequences. Basically I see no reason to go out of my way to be offensive because to me 'being offensive doesn't=I can freedom of speech better then u' but I am not going to walk on egg shells either.
Also I don't think you can soley blame the issue on 'this generation' what about those who raised this generation, you don't think they've had any part in creating the crowd who supports censorship and what not?

How about we just ignore self-hating white ninny "liberals"(they're complete opposite of liberal) and move on with our lives?

I do defend myself. I just think it's over the top, ridiculous and whiney and things that are all those things annoy me. It's not "getting me" it's annoying me. The same way hearing "make him give it back!" "Stop looking at me" "I'm telling". " Moooooooommmmmm" and such over and over all the way to The freaking Farm in Summertown one year did. And that's a long drive and an even longer night camping when its constantly that stuff. That's how the complaints over piddly sh*t come across to the people who b*tch about it.
Nobody is complaining cause anyone is stopping them from saying anything. Nobody is afraid they will tweet some crap about them. Nobody is limited or harmed by it, except certain professionals in academia for now, UNTIL THEY GRADUATE, but its just annoying as f*ck and it makes a huge group of people come across as weak and whiney and thin skinned. I know that they aren't all that way, it's just learned behavior. I wish I could say it was a fad like disco but it doesn't have any redeeming qualities and disco had luudes and Saturday Night Fever and bitchin shoes. And Night Fever. One of the best songs ever. I love it.
Do you see what I'm saying at all right now?

you can't simultaneously believe in free speech and want to restrict it, that's not how free speech works.

It most definitely is an ideology, there are very few PC ideologues but many many useful idiots that cast fear over the entire culture. You are taking what they say at face value when in reality these PC police are actually what you call Cultural Marxists. Not liberals, liberalism literally means as much freedom as possible so like libertarianism which is funny considering how twisted the term has become. Look at actions, not what they little manifesto says.

That would work of they were up in arms over garden variety asshattery. They aren't. They are mad about things most people have never heard of. And also it's all about how the person listening perceives it. We can't know how they will and they could misunderstand anything and then the speaker is the bad guy for no reason.
If not being an ass were how to not trigger the SJWs then it would be easier.
That's why we need a list. Nobody is going to come up with all that crap on their own.
Again. Jazz Hands. Clapping isn't being an ass and nobody would think it is but its wrong and TRIGGERING now. That is why we need a list.
And people with colostomys probably don't appreciate you throwing that a word around. See? That could actually be one.

That's why I wanted the list. Just so we all know and when somebody does say it or do it or clap it, they can't say they don't know. It would just be easier.
If it's as simple and as good and right as you say, where's my list? Oh it's possible.

Also as a side note...I thought a trigger warning was for if you're like on an online or IRL mental health support group type thing, to warn people if you're about to go into detail about some horrific experience you had or saw that could trigger trauma symptoms in others. Or I remember in school when they showed videos that could be disturbing for less mature classmates or ones who maybe had a trauma/experience related they'd warn them to leave the room for it if nessisary.
So basically whatever a**hole decided its something to just throw around in front of anything that, anyone might find distasteful is using the idea in an entirely overblown and inappropriate manner I think.
