That's what religion is all about - expressing beliefs without first determining if those beliefs have any basis in reality.

Making wrong remarks about the theory of evolution because one didn't bother to learn what it says about men and monkeys is not a question of religion or belief. Religious beliefs can't be checked for their basis in reality, which is okay, too, because that's why they are called beliefs after all.
