I'm sort-of conceited, by local standards, but 85% of my neighbors are like bad Spike Jones songs.

I am not always regarded as a white person, and will be lucky, if I don't get the same treatment.

There are Iranians, on my street. They have bough out an old German family. Whatever they have up their sleeves, if anything at all, they come across as dignified.

I am not being racist, I'm being indifferent.

I think I get your point better. As for the transition, there is a danger that conservatives may attempt to wield the power of the federal government, taking advantage of the Supremacy Clause, to force their way of doing things on California. Because of that, I think Calexit must remain an option for this state, a peaceful movement to attain independence for California or at least greater autonomy. If the conservatives get violent, especially if they wield federal power to commit violence, in response to this peaceful movement, then that could end up backfiring on them. We need to stand up for our views and our rights.
