he just screams "I'm an EDL supporter" from the 1st second

I'm sorry I don't know what EDL is

It is the English Defence League

An ultra right wing organisation that wants to kick all the immigrants out of England and leave England for the English.

They can start by kicking out all the Normans. They're clearly not English. Next they can can kick out the Saxon, followed by the Angles, what have they ever giving to English culture? Then England will belong to the English (Celts) and will henceforth be known as Celtland. The foreign language of the invaders (English) will be banned.

Alternatively, we could acknowledge that English culture is a rich tapestry of Anglo, Saxon, Norman and even Middle-Eastern culture (England just wouldn't be the same without kebab shops).

I would never paint a whole country with one stroke. Especially if I've never been to the country.

We have great, enlightened genius in America. We also have ignoramuses. I've met both types. Even in a "liberal, enlightened, sophisticated, etc." place like New York City.

The same with a place like Nigeria, which has a corrupt reputation. If one would paint Nigeria with one stroke, one would say that most Nigerians are corrupt scammers.

However, I've read, in many places, that most Nigerians actually abhor corruption, and would rather live honestly on their 1 or 2 bucks a day than to engage in any corrupt practices.

Me personally, when I think of a corrupt system I think of the people in power.

it's not if you've been trepanning yourself for funsies or if you're a distrustful waste of flesh.

Not that this matters that much:

But the English were named after the Angles, who came to England almost simultaneously with the Saxons circa 450 AD.

The Celtic people already settled there were known to the Romans as (English rendering) "the Britains," even though the "Britons," were apparently overrun by other Celtic tribes in the area.

Actually, squat toilets, if sanitary enough, COULD be superior (in quality of experience for the user once user gets used to it) to "western"-style toilets.

Squatting is considered, by some, to be the "natural" position for people when they're doing their business.
