I have just savoured a just squeezed bio orange-kiwi-banana juice.

Not sure I want to taste this replicated fast food.

People are very stubborn when it comes to meat. Veggie meats never quite made it into common place as some hoped. I've probably had a couple dozen different veggie burgers, ranging from pretty damn tasty to some that were like eating a block of foam rubber.

Even if 3d printed meat or some sort of factory grown meat is cost efficient and reduces waste, or saves animals lives, people will still prefer the old fashioned version if it tastes better. To the thread question, yes. But I'd still probably want to enjoy a real natural steak or BBQ chicken from time to time.

Actually thats probably not an issue, and actually would likely be one upside to this Frankenmeat. It was never on the skeleton of an actual animal.So there would be no tendons, ligaments, cartilage, or even fat. Just artificial red meat.Monotonous and not quite right tasting, but just the red meat. Imagine steaks growing like leaves on a tree (so they dont have to raise the whole cow). Except it's not a tree but a machine piping nutrients to petri dishes in a lab.

I'd want to know what the potential side effects are. Sometimes when they come up with something new to ingest, problems with it appear a while later for consumers who decided to volunteer as guinea pigs.

I remember finding veggie burgers that was as close as you could get probably without having any actual beef added. But then the company wasn't in business for too long. Making some yourself is another story, in my experience it tends to turn into a fake meat paste, lol.

Well theres also the problem getting people to change their diet towards fake meat products, which of course takes money and going up against the meat industry.

No, he's actually straight up wrong. You are right, though.

In being omnivores, we are simultaneously carnivores and vegetarians. Either label on its own only denotes what is consumed, not what is excluded. Humans, like bears, are apex omnivores. We are both carnivores and predators.

Soylent Green comes to mind!

I've been vegetarian by choice the last few months and have lost my taste for meat, although I have dairy products and the occasional piece of fish.

It's possible to live as a vegetarian or even as a vegan. Maybe it's time we evolved without the need to slaughter.

I would eat Soylent Green without a second thought. And when my time comes, I'd be proud to carry on as a dietary supplement.

I think this laboratory meat thing will happen one day and I like the idea. I won't give up eating meat, but I'd gladly pay more if it helps stop animals from suffering. Not only would the lab meat not cause suffering, but if it is successful on the market, the factory farmers will have to be competitive and will have to take the treatment of their animals more seriously, perhaps charging more for humanely slaughtered beef, etc.

I predict in the future, the masses will eat artificially grown meat, while the only the rich will eat the meat of actual animals, which will be an expensive luxury,
