It would fail miserably. We would die in droves.

I don’t mean an Aspie city, I mean WP city, populated only by all WP active/inactive members since WP’s day 1.

I have been years on WP, and most members seem to work in IT, engineering, art, small businesses and entry jobs.

But I never recall a single WP working in law or medical fields.

In fact, nurseangela is the only WP member I recall who works in the medical field. And I recall only one who is pharmacist.

Boo's point might be that if you extrapolate from the population of WP to that of a whole putative "aspie nation" (this notion some keep plugging that we should have an all autistic nation)that such a country wouldn't work because it would lack folks with certain aptitudes for certain jobs. But that's probably also true of other social websites. If you took the population of a website for those passionate about collecting "Barbie Dolls, and beanie babies" you would probably find some aptitudes and occupations over represented, and others under represented.

Yeah extrpolating would make more sense to fill a city.

I suppose building the WP city one town over from a major Cleveland Clinic or Mayo Clinic might make sense. From that setup a building or two full of ambulance chasers would likely be no more than a stone-throw away.

I'm really envisioning Barberton, OH here - ie. a place where hardly anyone works within the town itself, its old and rural, you don't see people outside much, and the peace and quiet is only punctuated by the occasional explosion of a meth lab.

There are several nurses here who are Aspies.

Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 83 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 153 of 200 You are very likely neurotypical
Darn, I flunked.

Someone brought up the question of how much brawling we'd do over whose really on the spectrum. I think a public paintball arena might be a good way to hash out those sorts of disputes.
