I am mentally defective in a lot of ways and wouldn't trust myself with a gun.
I don't even like using the nail gun because I'm scared I might forget some vital safety rule and accidentally nail someone nearby.
And then I have obsessive self-harming thoughts, like "What would it feel like to shoot a nail through my hand?"
So there's no way I would want a real gun.

Aspies like nts will have some violent people. That’s a given, but like nts that doesn’t mean most aspies are violent. I think our anxiety actually makes us better safer gun owners as well as safer at other things. My cousin disabled all the safeties on his nail guns, quite a few contractors remove safety things to save few seconds of time. Meanwhile I, extra safe with the safeties. I’ve never had accidents, they’ve had lots of accidents. So who’s better? It’s why we have safety agencies who make sure companies follow safety protocols even still lots don’t and get fined. Or follow them only during inspections.
Most people have such thoughts. According to studies Most people think about killing others time to time, it’s considered normal. But it’s s far cry from more serious thought of doing it or hurting yourself,
If yiu don’t feel safe having a gun good for you. I had friends who felt they’d shoot others if they had guns cause they get angry and get into fights. Good. I don’t though so I feel safe with guns. I don’t do road rage for example. I just make snarky comments about people who my driver instructor said feel special.
